I think a majority of people, even those who regularly practice AP and preform OBEs through lucid dreaming have more regular lucid dreams than anything else.
Lucid Dream. I do not dabble in Astral Projection or OBEs. I don't feel right tampering with that stuff, at least not yet. My goal is to become adept at lucid dreaming and then decide whether or not I want to try AP, although it would be fun to do and I can see uses for it.
Just lucid dreams for me too. I've had no luck with OBEs or Astral projection (unless lucid dreams are low level astral projections)
It's erroneous to separate "OBEs" and "astral projection." Astral projection is a form of out-of-body experience.
Oh. So what other form of OBEs are there?
Another common type of OBE is mental projection, which is an experience within the "mental body," an energy body of a higher resonance and finer energy than the astral body. Mental projections allow much more freedom as compared to astral projections- more freedom to navigate and direct one's experience, and freedom to experience higher dimensions and higher states of consciousness. Remote viewing can be considered a type of OBE. I also consider lucid dreams to be out of body experiences. Essentially, I take an OBE to be any experience in which it one has the perception of one's consciousness being projected outside of the physical body and/or into a nonphysical level of reality, and generally constitutes perceptions grounded within nonphysical reality and whatever type of nonphysical body one is using.
Hi DawnEye11,
Cool poll!
I average about one lucid dream per night, and 1 OBE per week, and only a few AP's in my lifetime. I'm very intrigued with the AP's because it's possible to do them anytime and anywhere in a deep state of relaxation with your eyes closed. You don't have to wait for WBTB or WILD. I sometimes get remote viewing when I meditate (if somebody is lends me their eyes), and I specifically ask to be taken someplace. In this case I'm just an observer, and I have no control over where we go or what we look at (also, no sound).
LMAO at the anime girl and the vanilla cherry cake!
For those of you saying that OBE and AP is the same thing just pick either one. Sorry if I separated but I saw it differently because I thought OBE and AP took place in different places.
Oh I see difference...
But while lucid dream feels like dream with adition of lucidity, OBE feels diametraly diferent. And, while there are quite difference in "feeling" of myself while projecting to diferent dimension, they contain similarity, consciousness has base state which is similar, but from astral, through mental , budhic... and I don't know how to name others, it needs finer and finer control.
Vincefield is correct here, but perhaps we can simplify things for this poll.
Technically all of these experiences count as OBE, however, in popular culture OBE is like remote viewing or becoming ghost like and exploring this physical world (truly or in a dream state).
AP, while technically also a form of OBE, implies experience weirder that the physical world. Any one of many possible experiences in what seems like other dimensions.

That is why I constructed the poll the other way before. But the poll has other options now so hopefully no one mentions anything about it being wrong. Although I appreciate the feedback.Quote:

But there might be people who see a difference so I rather it just stay the way it is.Quote:
Honestly, I would have grouped OBE and AP into the same category for simplicity (OBE/AP) and just had two categories
No worries, I have no problem with the poll, simply offering my opinion. What I'm thinking is that if OBE and AP are listed as different experiences and you offered them together as an option too, then by following the same logic I would expect to see other combinations of different experiences as options as well, like "OBE and LD," or "AP and LD." If the reason for grouping OBE and AP into one option is for those who view these experiences as one and the same, keep in mind that some people see no difference between lucid dreaming and astral projection and/or OBEs. Sorry, just my overly-technical and perfectionist mind at play.
