Hey though you should check out this book, it shows you how to have an one in a matter of days and most people are successful with it. There's actually a MONSTER size thread dedicated to the book because so many ppl have gotten OBEs with the authors method:

I would recommend reading Journeys out of the body by Robert Monroe.
I certainly had one OBE when I was younger and, after an operation, woke up to see myself lying on the bed with my father napping next to me.

In the last year and a half I have experienced intense vibrations and, sometimes, a feeling of "lifting" and/or floating when I meditate or am just about to fall asleep/wake up.

Reading Robert Monroe's book was very enlightening - some of the things he mentioned I have experienced first-hand.

I am actually a lot more interested in LD than OBE, but I enjoyed the book and will look more into OBE once I am LD regularly (hopefully in the near-ish future).

My initial thought is to ascertain what answers you are looking for and how you believe they will solve your problems.

Regarding finding a spiritual guide to help you get to the next spiritual plane, accessing higher dimensions is simply a matter of practice in the out of body state and development of one's consciousness and the energy body. You do not need a guide to get you there. I'd recommend looking into Robert Bruce's work.
