      Possible OBE Experiences

I believe I have had 2 OBE's in my life. The first possible OBE occurred when I was little. I don't think it was a dream because the surroundings were very much like reality. The experience starts with me standing in my room. I had a book on the table which was in my room. I looked at the book twice, and the text on its cover didn't change. I looked around in my room and I saw my psysical body lying in bed, but I didn't see my face. Unfortunately I can't remember more of the experience. The second possible OBE occurred about a year ago. I woke up and found myself floating close to the ceiling. I don't think this was a dream either because my room was also much like reality. What do you think about this? Could it be OBE's?

I believe in OBE insofar as a person feels they are outside their own body, and are able to see their own if they look down, and their surroundings appear to be the same. As far as it being something like a remote viewing experience, or some other ESP like phenomena, there is no evidence out there that supports this notion. You said it yourself, the rooms appeared the same. Even if they were some how 100% a match, it doesn't prove that you were actually floating outside your body. Given you are sure you had these experiences, and you were floating outside your body in whatever rooms you were in, I would say they are qualified as OBEs, unless OBE specifically has to mean that you are legitimately somehow floating outside your body. Is the latter possible? Yeah, it is, it could be the case. Does the evidence we have regarding the matter reflect that it really is the case? No, not at all.

edit: Sorry if I came off as a little cold, I've been doing that in BD lately, I had gotten better about not doing that. Kinda busy and so I gave a terse, no-nonsense answer. Don't take offense to it, I wasn't meaning any.

I too believe. But I lack serious enough proof. And I read so many times of scientific explanation- they don't explain everything I experienced, yet, it could be product of my brain. Maybe it is everything product of brain... maybe with some remote seeing things in time and space.

Thanks for your replies! I believe my experiences really were OBE's because they were so vivid. I still remember my first OBE vividly, even though I wasn't floating (I really think this was an OBE though). I just remember that I was looking around and saw my body lying in bed, and next I was looking at a book that was on the table. The text on its cover didn't change, and I was surprised because that never happens to me in my dreams.

      Hello Thegagagirl1234

I have had thousands of the experiences that you have posted above and is how I have also experience obes for over 30 years. In an obe everything should be the same here as there nothing should be different. I have also had thousands of astral projections so there is a line that separates them, the problem is many do not experience obes they experience many levels of astral projections that can mimic obes.

When you are having this type of experience it is not easy to move or to even figure anything out almost like you are not in control of it but you are. Once i got through the beginning phases of understanding the experiences I found i was making mistakes in how I was thinking coming into the experience. I was always shocked at first as a teenager when the feelings came on but soon realized with more obes I could navigate and even move around in them, preparing myself every time at exit.

Click below link for a good delineation between OBE's and Lucid dreams. Chart can be found on page 8 of linked PDF and was developed by author Ed Kellogg.
