      Enlightening Dream

Shortly before the dream that profoundly changed my life I heard a voice as clear as if he was beside me speaking into me ear. " These are the revelations....". I sat up in bed and looked around for the source of the voice to finish his sentence. I am alone except for my sleeping child laying next to me after a mid morning nap.
A Course In Miracles calls it "The Holy Instant". At the time of this dream I had never heard of the Course.
It is early morning before the sun has risen or perhaps at the exact moment of the rising sun. In the dream I witness a serene landscape. I feel content and at peace. I am hovering over a lighthouse or what I believed at the time to be a lighthouse. The ocean is calm except for a storm far off in the distance. I have a feeling my family is out there. I feel as if I need to bring them in but it's not with a sense of urgency. I am an observer. The sand is a golden hue that reveals to me it is perhaps early morning. There was a feeling of newness, beginning, a sort of perfect timelessness. (These abandoned "lighthouses" a total of 11 that line the shore between Bethany Beach Delaware and Fenwick Island Maryland. I later found out they are watchtowers.) As I focus in, the "lighthouse" suddenly lights up with an amazing brilliant light and within the same moment all the "lighthouses" light up for miles. Now there is only light! This whole dream takes place in this one instant (a holy instant). If it had not been so powerful it would not have entered my conscious because it existed outside of time. It was illuminating and continues to be so. If felt as if someone turned on the lights and all truth was revealed. Truth exists outside of time and space because it has no need. In the dream I AM the perspective of light. This is what I came to understand or remember... Our Source is light. Light is truth. Truth is love. Forgiveness and compassion are ours to give so that we can all return to our source whole. I saw that if my light did not touch someone it was not because I wasn't shinning it was because of a block that was denying the truth of who they are. I know that everyone originated from this light from which I was seeing. I know that this is the same light people speak of seeing before they die. In this light there is only love. It is all encompassing. Shadows do not exist because they are burned away as if they were never there at all. I know that the light never goes away it can't it is the reason and the source for all that is. (As a child I remember moments of clarity when I would realize I could not die. I'm not referring to my physical body but that part of me that knows that I exist. That is what I called it as a child "that part of me that knows I exist".) I have no doubt that this is God, Energy, Higher-self, whichever name you choose to give it, it is the source from which we all come. The vail was lifted and will be lifted for all that ask to see.
I was also shown that all answers can be found here in this light. We as individuals are a perspective of that same light much like the facets of a perfect diamond. We are all healed because within a diamond there are no shadows. Looking back at the light for answers is the same as looking deep within and knowing the truth. Nothing is being done to us it is all for us!
After this dream I had a few months of euphoria and I still live in this state much of the time. I could connect to everything. All answers where SO clear. I have a renewed love for everyone including myself. The slate is clean I hold no more grudges, anger, resentment, disgust, or ultimately fear. I'm not saying at times I don't feel these emotions but what has changed is the knowing that I don't have to hold on to them. I recognize these emotions for what they are and I am grateful for the opportunity to burn away the shadows and shine.

Wow, thank you for sharing this.
Our Source is light. Light is truth. Truth is love. Forgiveness and compassion are ours to give so that we can all return to our source whole.
Just this alone, summarize what I have learned to believe our purpose for being alive in this form is all about.

Have you been intersted in spiritual learnings before this dream? And when and how did you find out about the "A Course In Miracles"?

I had been interested in spiritual learnings before this dream but I have to say I was at the beginning stages of truly asking questions and receiving insights. My fierce died in a car accident when I was 23. This is when my world collapsed and I realized for the first time that nothing was truly what I thought it was. I broke out of my box quit collage ( I was only doing that for my parents anyway), and decided to travel and get away from all the memories. No one was going to step in my way. Most people didn't know what to say to me. Not many could relate. The worst that could happen had already happen. So I left with $800 in my pocket and a one way ticket to St. Croix. I loved it! With Joshes death my fears of life disappeared. When I was 33 I had my first daughter. My travels had brought me to Costa Rica. Living my dream life that I never knew was possible I had my first spontaneous LD when my daughter was 3 months. A friend who sold banana bread on the beach in Dominical had told me of Carlos Castinada and the ability one can have to be aware in the dream state. That night I had my first LD. This is when I realized that reality it within me! That nothing our senses touch are solid. This helped me to understand that God is within. I no longer had to believe what was told to me, truths would be shown. I was doing a few group meditations and I was learning Reiki. What was really doing was learning to trust myself. I realized a I had a strong aversion to religious terminology. A few nights before the dream I was laying with my daughter outing her down for a mid morning nap and I felt myself just wanting her to go to sleep so I could go do other things. Then I saw my self from a higher perspective. I had been practicing a sort of perspective shifting meditation. Where I would use my dream consciousness to see the life situation from a different perspective. I would be a bird flying through the sky, a dog walking past me on the street. I have another post on here called " Clear light perspective" that explains hat in further detail. The course in miracles came to me after the light dream on a visit to the states when my oldest daughter was about 3 years old. I went to Barnes and Noble and it was on the sale rack. I picked it up and turned to the bookmarked page "The dreamer of the dream". It was as if I was reading a letter that I wrote to myself a long time ago. It just so happen that was Easter weekend and I started the lessons when I brought it home. Later I found that The Course in Miracles was of Jesus.

Yet again, wow! You have a very interesting lifestory. You clearly had a rough time in your earlier years, but Im glad to hear that life turned out to be so much better for you now. It is such a paradox that in one's greatest loss, lies the potential for one's greates gifts.. It often seem to be that way I guess.

This helped me to understand that God is within. I no longer had to believe what was told to me, truths would be shown.
      This is gold.

I have actually already read your thread "Clear light perspective" maybe 1/2 years ago, and I really enjoyed reading it. I can recall some of that post even today, since I found it very genuine and real in many ways. People that seem to speak or write from that deeper place usually make a deeper impression. Atleast that's how I often percieve information from others now adays, not that it have always been like that. As I looked through the new post here this morning I say your nickname, and instantly know that it was you that wrote that "Clear light perspective" and had a blue butterfly. So it's not that I am your stalker, even if it might sound like that. But rather that you made a stronger impression since you seem to have that inner wisdom that you speak from. I enjoy reading stuff that comes from people who know their things on that deeper level. It's as simple like that.

I looked up "A course in miracles" last summer. And I did start to practice the daily lessons. And I was pretty much blown away about how profound that book really is. Each practice day was like an little eye-opener into something deeper beyond what was said. Have you read the whole book since you found it?

And have you found any particular meditation practice that you liked? I have heard about " The white light meditation" that sounded interesting, but havn't really found any good clearification on it so far.

It's great to see you back here at DV and posting Lidybug! Your Clear Light thread is what introduced me to you and helped me to think more effectively from different perspectives.

I have not looked into the white light meditation. Perspective shifting is my preferred practice. Also morning walks help me to center and stay consciously self aware.

      Forgiveness
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath and exhale all the way. Take another deep breath .... Exhale. Take a deep breath....Clear your mind of all thoughts exhale with out judgement let go of all thoughts. Picture a white room. Flowing white curtains. White floor, white walls, spacious no ceiling only the infinite sky. There is a child standing in the middle of this room. This child holds the only color in this room. The child is calm and unafraid. You are the child. Look up what do you see? Your past and your future do not exist here. This is the you before experiences. This is the you that only knows love. That came for and from love. That can not be separate from love. Every thought that comes in that is not love is an illusion like a child's nightmare. It does not exist. Your mind and your heart are represented by these pure white walls. Reflecting back to you what you truly are. Pure and abundant in love, pregnant with love. Looking only to share it. Look up what do you see? It is only seen with your heart.

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for but, here is something I wrote up previously. I was able to LD in childhood starting at around 5-7years old until sometime in my pre-teen years after my father told me about it as a way to fight off nightmare creatures (before asking my father what age he thinks I started, I was guessing I started a little later/older) . I can remember defeating a creature and flying among other things. Over the years I got away from recalling dreams, recalling very few, much less LDing. In February 2013 I started researching how to get back into it. I think researching sleep paralysis around July 2012 after a scary SP experience (1st, and only actual, SP experience) got me back on this track by keeping LDs in the back of my mind until I started researching them 8 months later. I guess I can thank some of the faulty connections between SP and LDing, that I read about back then, for bringing me back to LDing. I also heard about an eye mask for inducing lucid dreams probably over 10 years or so before all of this but it wasn't in my budget at the time but I did start keeping a dream journal before dropping that after a few weeks. The eye mask was probably one of Laberge's previous eye masks.

I naturally wake up to go to the bathroom nightly so in my adult practice I started out by latching on to WBTB paired with SSILD and still do this, sometimes mixing in MILD. I am currently focusing on DILDs through awareness. Most of my focus towards induction attempts have been on the weekend but I am starting to mix in more during the week.

As far as sharing my strategy, this may sound corny but, I think that it comes down to "journeys." (I wrote this a while back but I also used the term journey, like you used in your question above Lidybug) There is my journey to understand what is really helping me to lucid dream. There is my journey of relatively steady practice (with some short periods of waning practice but never stopping completely and not really waning for more than a week or so). And then there is my overall journey from childhood to now with a huge decades long gap where I paid almost no attention to dreams at all. Again, I had some LDs as a child and I think that helps me now - not really with induction - but with dream control and knowing that things like flying doesn't have to be hard if you don't believe it to be. That is one advantage of not going into something with any pre-conceived negative notions I guess.

My relatively steady practice has been evolving over the last 3 years but has almost always been towards Sageous' brand of self-awareness work with RCs and RRCs. One thread on this is here: http://www.dreamviews.com/wild/12557...mentals-q.html . I think the shift to really understanding that I should really stop and look around in wonder when doing these "check-ins" was one of my first epiphanies. Another was being able to visualize "seeing myself" from various vantages (inspired by your Clearlight thread Lidybug). And more recently a kind of odd stepped-up realization of the fact that "I am he who is aware." If you get a kind of paradigm shift when really looking around in wonder (i.e. while your fingers are around your mouth like a man stroking his mustache/beard thus putting your fingers and hand into view or peripherally seeing your body below while looking out at the world) it can give you an idea of what I mean.

I can't say that I've had any dreams quite like your enlightening dream, but I've had a good number that felt significant. It seems some of my favorite LD's start off from the point when I find myself (my dream body) in a calm ocean after the previous dream scene had faded into the void.

I am doing very well. I had a friend pass away the other day of a heart attack. He was 45 and had been exercising, quit smoking, and all around a very happy soul always focused on the positive. I honesty can not remember a moment that he was not smiling. It's interesting I don't see death as this horrible thing anymore. Its something we will all experience and I find it a blessing and a gift to go out on top.
I have been focusing on Love and the answer always being Love. I find myself wanting to explain what this means. I can give an infinite number of examples of where love can be applied but the answer truly is EVERYWHERE and for EVERYTHING. How to come to this realization is where the block lies. Its practice. I have practiced this in my dreams. Just last night I had a dream that was a practice in what I was questioning.

      The following is the dream...

There is someone looking for us. My daughters and I are in a house in a neighborhood that is being attacked by a group of angry people. There is a helicopter over head shining a light on the streets and in the windows of the homes. We are on the floor in the kitchen. I tell my young daughters to stay on the floor so no one can see you. I open a closet and crawl inside on the top shelf until the lights pass by our house. When they have passed a climb down and pick up my daughters and put them on the shelf. The lights pass by again. I hear voices someone comes inside looking. They don't see us and leave. Now I am in an upstairs bedroom with my girls. We climb out the window and start running up the wild mountain behind the house. It is steeper then it looks. We climb not as fast as I had hoped but we make to the top and down the otherside. We run into some others that are running from the same group. We get into a car with them and drive down a dirt road. We stop at a place to eat. There are about 40 people there who all seem to know each other. As we sit at our table I reconize one of the men as part of the group that was raiding the neighborhood I could feel the anger in his heart. They were killing people. I sit down I realize he recognized me as well. There are a few more I reconize and realize this is the group we were running from. The first one comes over to me and I know he expects me to be scared. I look him in the eyes and ask him "Why are you so angry? I know this is not truly you." I continue to look into his eyes and I can still see them as I write this. His eyes are filling with tears. I see his light shining through. There is no fear. Compassion. I see him...and he knows.

Beautiful dream and sentiments on love lidybug! I am currently at the stage of being very good about catching myself anytime I am inclined to judge someone, but I am not yet at the stage of loving "all my neighbors." I don't know for sure if that is the path that I am on or if they are part of the same path, but I am on some kind of path.
