Sounds in Sleep Paralysis, Hypnogogia, and in pre-OBE state

I had a crazy experience a couple nights ago with sound in a SP/pre-OBE state, and thought it'd be cool to get a list going of sounds people have experienced in the in-between-state from waking and fully asleep. It could be sleep paralysis (SP), hypnogogic sounds or from a pre-OBE state.

Anyway a snapshot from my experience: I was waking up from a dream, or possibly still in it, and next thing I know I'm really spaced out and lying down in my room. Everything is really foggy and I can barely make out my ceiling and walls, and I feel all this intense buzzing and hear this deafening metallic screeching sound. Sometimes if I focused enough the sound would go away, or I would start to slip into something else, but it was blowing my mind how loud this screeching metallic sound was. I thought I was going to loose my hearing and thought I should try covering my ears it was insane, like hundreds of trains were screeching by or a hundred people were scraping metal right by my ears.

I've had some sounds and voices in hypnogogia but nothing like this. I know I was coming out of a dream, so I feel like I was probably in SP. But that sound was so crazy

I experience that buzzing noise a lot. Often it's so loud that it hurts my ears, and I can usually increase its intensity at will.
Once the buzzing sound woke me up until I was in a half sleep/half waking state, so I decided to try and enter an LD or OBE. Suddenly I hear my husband urgently talking to me "We need to talk! We need new hobbies. We have to start walking!" His voice was crystal clear and so incredibly real. If the message hadn't been so bizarre and if I hadn't just recently read about "astral noise" or auditory hypnagogia, I definitely would have thought it was real and woken up.
The power of our minds is quite incredible!

Yeah it was nuts I thought I was losing my mind haha. I've had hypnogogic sounds before so I know what that's like but haven't really got SP stuff before so this was really surprising. I actually did go into a short OBE after this (at least I feel like it was OBE) but this sound was so intense I had to post about it. It was so jarring, and it makes me wonder why and how its there just because you can't miss it.

I usually hear super loud noises that sound like drums and hear voices having conversations separate from me, but in the same room.

I have had true SP only 2 times, and I have not had any sounds with that.

But I have had some sounds when I knew they were HH.

Metallic sound only once, but it was the freakiest. Sound of chain rattling in the middle of my room, together with a door creaking open. I have read about metallic HH sounds are common.

My normal HH sounds are loud thunder and strong wind blowing by my ears. VERY loud.

I have never truly been paralyzed, but have taken hypnogogia to the extremes. There have been times when I could hear music playing very clearly. Not just generic music, but perfectly recreated songs from the radio. It can sound like your in a movie theater.

I've experienced a loud noise only once in the many times I've experienced REM Atonia/SP. It was only one of two times I was frightened by the experience as well, because it sounded like a deafeningly loud train suddenly appeared outside my wall and was about to ram straight into me. My SP experiences aren't quite the norm though, I can always move if I actually desire to and don't ever feel the presences or feelings of doom or terror that you commonly hear about (I did feel terror once because I was on a prescription sleep medication when I experienced it though). It sounds exactly like hypnagogic hallucinations and being aware during REM Atonia, with the loud noise either being part of said hallucinations or possibly exploding head syndrome.

Pre-OBE and SP I have heard: voices/conversations (clear as day), rustling, buzzing, knocking, clicking, radio static/white noise, footsteps, whispering, the sounds of 'singing crystals' (small pointy crystals that make a high pitched "singing" or "tinkling" sound when rubbed or rolled together), and a faint far away melody played on an unidentifiable but amazing sounding instrument.
With the footsteps and the whispering certainly being the most unnerving ones.
