Realized i've been having this dream all my life

I have been on/off lucid dreaming for the last five years. Obviously, i have recorded a lot of dreams.
So it came as a surprise, not to say shock, when i discovered that this night's dream (me trying to rise up as high as possible in the air in swimming style - my nonlucid flying style - and trying to overcome air force barriers that sometimes happen to be there ) has been playing out frequently all my dream life and i havenīt noticed it before.

I sure have noticed that flying is a common theme in my dreams. But this particular dream action - trying to fly as high as possible with the help of my hands and legs, and trying to escape air force barriers and feel the freedom of it - have escaped my conscious awareness for all this time.

But, even more surprising to me, was that after recalling this dream, i can now remember that i have been doing this all my dream life. It is like a single memory has unlocked the memory of other events, which i now i have conscious access.

Imagine seeing a person and then suddenly all other memories come rushing to your mind, memories you didnīt have conscious access before. The same thing, but in dream time and life.

Even though i canīt recall in detail the other times that this dream behaviour had occured, i know they have occured as long as i have been dreaming. It surely feels weird to recognize this only now ***

I feel like i have reconnected with a deep part of me, of my dream life.

How i understand you Peter Pan !!!

*** I think i can profit from this, to use as lucid dream incubation, as it must be something that my subconscious mind seems to want to do. A natural bridge i think.

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

That's cool! I had some similar things happen to me, but before I go into them and talk about them, did you ever document them before, or just remembering?

I actually had a dream once, that a witch (my constant adversaries for a while) reminded me of times that they took me when I was a kid and locked me in their towers and I wasn't able to wake up until I got out. I don't think this happened, but I give it a "narrative pass" and act as if it happened, because it makes much more sense in my dream world and the way that my dream world has developed. The witches actually leave me alone now due to me being waaaaaay too powerful compared to their abilities. They were restricted to one or two simple abilities, but they all were granted anti-projectile and slow-regen, so it took me a while to figure out how to easily dispatch them. Now I don't even need abilities to dispatch them, haha.

I am always curious and wonder about "fake memories" and "forgotten dreams" and I don't know if it is possible to figure out if they are one and the same, or if they both exist and just lean on each other.

I always recommend just thinking about dreams and drawing connections and not worrying about whether or not they are connected, but just acting like they are, because as soon as you do, they are connected now. This is really how I created my dream world, just by sitting down and thinking and connecting dots to make a full picture. I am excited to see what else unfolds in your dream adventure!

      They seem real dream memories.
It seems not all dream memories are lost forever, or at least they can be retrieved in some way
It is surely an interesting research problem

But, for the purpose of dreaming work, i agree with you - it does not matter so much
I am also excited. I cant deny the joy of reconnecting with long lost happy dream memories.
I am still thinking how i will use this to improve. But the surprise very was good already

Dream recall can really help us to know ourselves, that is my insight so far
