Dreams convinced me I have a long lost brother. Possible?

Over the past year or so, I've had several dreams in which I have a brother, and something tragic happens to him. In one dream, he died in the military. In other, he killed himself. In these dreams, I have such a DEEP connection to him that it's unreal. He feels like a piece of me, like actual family. The problem? I have only ever had one sibling, a sister. But this connection to my "brother" feels so REAL. When we dies in my dreams, it feels like a REAL family member passes away, and the pain is unbearable. When I dream of him I feel like I've known him my whole life. I have had no other dreams about fake family members or anything like this. It's always my "brother."

Possibilites: My father was a sperm donor in the 1980s. I was born in the 90s, which would make possible brother about 10 years older than me(in his mid 30s). In my dreams, he usually dies young, like high school aged or college aged. So even if I had a brother, would he even be alive?

I even thought about reaching out to sperm donor websites but they make you pay, and my dad signed an anonymity form back when he donated.

Am I just crazy? haha. Thoughts??

      You're definitely not crazy.
You're asking questions like an open-minded person.

      - It's possible that somehow, you and a long-lost brother are being connected through dreams.

      - It's also possible that, through your own knowledge of your dad being a donor, your subconscious has created a desire for this brother, and it's shining through in dreams.

Even if it is the second one, it's likely true that you do have a long-lost brother.

In my opinion, things like this bring us a nice opportunity to test the truth and find out just how accurate the dream was. A way to prove to yourself something which is currently beyond science.
If you can't find anything through the records, then you might want to attempt to gain more information from your dream-brother. Perhaps even work towards meeting him in a lucid dream. Ask his name, and stuff. Get any information you can that might allow you to track him down in waking life.

(Sorry for the late) update on this:

Thanks for the response, slash. I had the first dream or two about my brother before I even knew my dad was a sperm donor, which is why this was so fascinating to me.

I had a talk with my dad not too long ago about this. As it turns out, he didn’t just donate once but around a DOZEN times. And I have the hospital, date, and doctor’s name. So I’m not sure where to go from here. My dad gave me permission to put his info out there, but I haven’t decided yet if this is the right thing to do.

Now I know for sure that I most likely have a brother, probably more than one and also some sisters. I haven’t had a dream about my brother in awhile though so I think I’m going to wait until I can contact him in a dream again before I decide to pursue seeking out any half-siblings.

Yeah in my opinion, the best thing you could do is take this at the dream angle first. It sounds a lot like there may be a specific brother of yours who is reaching out to you, subconsciously, or in spirit. He's probably not aware he's doing it. Or heck there's a chance he's getting the same kind of experiences relating to you.

But in any case, I feel that if someone is reaching out to you, then the right thing would be to pursue that person in particular.
So going to doctors and gaining psychical contact with many siblings isn't the answer. Well, it could be the answer and you're free to try, but there's just the ethical issues that could go either way, which I assume are what have stopped you already.

My point is, it would be entirely ethical to for example, get lucid and summon him, and ask him questions. See if you can find out how to find him, purely through dreams. Then once you've got enough info, track him down.

And btw that is indeed fascinating how you were dreaming about him before even knowing about it. Brings the possibilities closer to these spiritual ones.

Keep us up to date! I'd love to hear how you get on with this.

      Lightbulb The Other You

My response is even later but I just found this.

Over the past year or so, have you needed change, confidence or strength, or action in some area?
Your brother can simply mean your masculine side, and something tragic happens to it or it dies.

In one dream, he died in the military might mean your individuality is needed or being free is, or being too regimental can kill it.
In other, he killed himself can mean you killed this side of you.
I have such a DEEP connection to him that it's unreal
sounds like that deeper connection to this piece of yourself you want to make real.

Hence you've known him your whole life.
And the someone who is reaching out to you is you I think.

That's weird because I had a dream a few days ago I had a daughter and she was about 3 years old....she then turned into a talking monkey or something. I woke up laughing, all that was missing was the puppy monkey baby from the commercial.

If you notice me while you're dreaming, don't be a stranger...say when!

I think the two interpretations, psychic connection to actual brother, or metaphorical description of the masculine part of yourself, are not mutually exclusive. In fact, even if the first is true, I think the second is almost certainly true also.

A third possibility is that the brother is someone who almost existed but didn’t. Some of the karma is still falling through your mind, like a meteor that won’t make it all the way to the ground, even though it didn’t manifest as an actual life.

A fourth possibility is that you’re empathetically experiencing someone else’s life, and are interpreting that person as your ‘brother’, either because you’re partially experiencing it through the mind of their sibling, or because you sense your spiritual kindredness. This explanation also doesn’t exclude the others, and I expect them to come together.

Finally, some people would interpret this kind of thing as a past life, though given that the previous explanations are also possible, I don’t see what aspect of the experience would support the ‘past life’ interpretation.

Whoops, one more, occasionally these kinds of experiences can also turn out to be premonitions. Again, this doesn’t exclude the other interpretations.

I’ve had such experiences of non-existent siblings and children, and think that a lot of other people have also.
