Was thinking about this last night about going a week without sound or sight. I'm just wondering what would happen if the conditions are safe. By safe I mean you can explore this state with people near by. Would this raise the inner senses to compete with the lose of two senses?
You can achieve this audiovisual deprivation in a highly controlled environment. Relying on outside help may affect your findings. One week is unlikely to gain any noticeable results.
Yeah, I'm with Genjyo. I don't think a lot would happen after one week, except for extreme irritability.
Im sure one would start to hallucinate a bit out of utter boredom, though. Kind of like what happens to those people that do wood retreat things. Perhaps amongst the hallucinations in the week one could obtain something, but who has the time to deprive themselves for a week and still go about their daily lives unhindered?
Yep, I think it would have a similar effect to that poor russian dude who have to stick around on the space station for a while.
Or being placed into a padded cell for a while.
