      The Real World

      Here's my theory:

There is one thing that is beyond dreaming. And that is the real world.

Do a reality check. Everything fine? Good! You're in the real world right now. You have successfully moved beyond dreaming.

So, any thoughts? I think this theory's ahead of its time.

Ha! Ex Nine, certainly first time I've seen it expressed here!

Imagine if this were nothing but one long false awakening without any reality checks working
Do you seriously think that blood is the only thing in this world that is colored red?

Well that's just a mass of senseless contradictions now isn't it?

Then we're not beyond dreaming yet. Certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

Hmmm - that would require people to be self-aware in the first place. How do you address that? Many of the monkeys here sure couldn't be classed that way.

I don't want to hear about the brain from someone that doesn't have one.
Nor do I want to hear about evolution from someone that hasn't evolved.

It depends on the RC. I think even if you go & see some weirdo doing something bad (like a current event or something), or if you go & read a book on the counter, you should still RC yourself, & your bed!!(see sig)

I'm afraid my comment was misunderstood.

      can you breathe underwater?
      can you see through walls?
I'm not always sure when I'm dreaming, but I ALWAYS know when I'm awake.

Ah! But thats when you base your reality on all your physical senses. What about the non physical? the 4D that we can not C? Maby that is what we get glimts of when we are dreaming?

What makes you think that you are not dreaming right now?
You just continued the dream in the morning, where you left it when you went to bed last night. The difrence in your "awake" state is that you remember. What if you piced up a dream right where you left it every time you would go to bed. From right at the start of your life? Would it be less real just cuz you do not remember? What if somone was born without a long term memory?

If you where to hurt a man and then forget it. Did it "never hapen"?

      Sounds good
Well, with the same set of rules one can establish that the real world is a dream of someone else and you know it only when you enter higher states of consciousness/awakening. Why one has to stop to the real world plateau?

um.... this makes no sense, is it an inside string of posts thats been going around the forum or something? because reality is the base of dreaming, without reality the dreamworld would not exist, it could not exist.... our mind bases dreams on the reality we're in right now (unless you think dreaming takes place on a higher plane of existence)

its not that this is beyond dreaming

its that reality is beyond us

basically, we are dream characters inside of another conscious being's dream (the earths consciousness)

its a dream in a dream in a dream, yes, but the only reason we dont have control over what we call 'reality' is because its not our dream to control

We are all just dream characters in the big dream of life, trying to convince each other its not a dream. The ultimate reality check is, death, but not many look forward to that. I dont believe thats the end so I am not afraid of that reality check just in no rush to wake up from the dream yet. Until we do that final reality check, we really have yet to go beyond dreaming.

I believe thats what you were trying to allude to ex-nine, right?

Maybe alluding to but not actually meaning.

LaBerge, is always saying something like, "who knows, maybe there's something we have to 'wake up' from in real life," to lead a lucid life or something.

Well I see that living a lucid life is waking up from the dream that life is a dream. After all, lucid dreams are waking up from the dream that dreams are not dreams, right?

Someone else just said "there is no spoon..."

Whether you quote the Bible, the Matrix, or the Karate Kid, it's all the same.

"No such thing a bad student, only bad teacher." - Miyagi Sensei

      Okay, maybe not Karate Kid.

I threw that in there because I have often wondered if some artist out there, like the author of the matrix, is tapping into something on a deaper level when they are creating a story or whatever and not even realising the corelation they are making to some deaper truth. Maybe it's just me but, it seems there is a lot of creative fiction out there that makes one ponder, "You know, if you read between the lines and interpereted this another way..."

Or perhaps Im just a little kooky, I've been accused of that a time or two.

As far as life being a dream that we are unable or unwilling to wake up from, I'd say ya, that about fits.
