YOUR subconscious...

What is your subconscious? I have been thinking about that after reading a post where it was sugested that you should give it a name and try to create a closer relation.
When I was in my near death state I heard a girl cry and a guy told her: Dont cry, he will wake up to his Fuzzy bunny.

I thought he was talking about a future girl friend or simular...

as soon as I read about the "naming your subconscious" Fuzzy bunny came straight to my mind.

As I am a guy, maby my subconscious is a girl for balance? And vice versa for girls?

Would perhaps explane why you can be bisexual or homosexual?

Could it be that when we "die" we wake up to our subconscious? 2 in one? a perfect play mate in the after life?

any thoughts?

The term subconscience was coined by Carl Jung many years ago and the article in question is still being debated about today. There are many different schools of thought about what the subconscience actually is. My personal beleif is that there is nothing subordinate about the so-called subconscience. I believe as well that there are many different aspects of ourselves that are grouped together and tagged with the term subconscience. I believe that our every day consience self is actully more of a hazey dream state than the other way around. Those that are are aware and in tune with all the different factions that make up the human entity seem to be more alive, awake, and conscience than anyone else it seems. I believe that what we call dreams are remembered echos of that higher state of mind when our everyday consceince egos are shut down and quiet. That part of ourselves is always there and always functioning on another level, but our everyday conscience self is absorbed and focused on this reality. A lucid dream is not a remembered echo, but an actully higher state of consienceness where the awarness is focussed on and participating in the event. Kind of like switching gears or jumping on to another track so to speak. To pass dreams off as fickle and unimprtant, expecially lucid dreams, is to deny an opportunity for understanding. If you want to understand what the subconsience is, don't take someone elses word for it. Experience it for yourself and learn!

My take on the subconscious is similar:

The subconscious is a concept of various features and layers of our mind, all bundled together. The subconscious is not one simplified single entity, but we tend to treat it as such.
One of the most important aspects of our 'subconscious' is imagination, creativity and lack of inhibitions. In our dreams, most of this is sourced from the area of our brain involved with motivation, punishment, reward and goal evaluation.
Ie. What worries us, what we want, what we find of possible interest.

As such, the subconscious relies a lot on what we feed it. If you dwell on negative emotions, you will experience nightmares. If you dwell on positive emotions, you'll have happy dreams.

A misconception is that the subconscious is subservient to us. It isn't, and in fact is more powerful than our consciousness. Take for example an anorexic. Even after accepting that they have a problem, they can't stop. Why?
Another example: I bite my nails. I don't want to bite my nails, and I've been through some serious effort to stop, with only intermittent success. If I don't want to bite them, then why do I?

Answer : because your subconscious takes precedence over your conscious choices.

Often, you can overpower your subconscious because it isn't eg. a habit that has formed into a solid brick wall. If you catch it early, it's easier to take care of.

Your subconscious is like a field. You reap what you sow. If you spent a lot of time killing or thinking of killing, you subconscious will want to kill, and dream of killing.

Another example, while speaking with a work colleague:
He had a conscious habit of coming home and grabbing a beer.
After a while he noticed that if he didnt get a beer, he would have this unnerving urge to do so.
Our subconscious is designed to simplify our lives. It breathes for us, handles our heart, blood pressure, temperature, etc.
Anything we do for a period of time, it tries to take control of for us, to make our life easier.
Hence, why it's like a field. You reap what you sow.
