Astral projection is what we do when we dream. If we become aware while dreaming, we can astral project ourselves out-of-body, in a spirit-style form. A lot of psychics use the word astral and spirit interchangebly. |

what exactly is astral projection...ive heard of it but not much, could someone explain what it is exactly? |

some people believe astral projection and lucid dreaming are the same thing. |

WOW! this is like, such a general topic. okay, asral projection is simply when someone moves their spirit body out of their physical body. simply meditate and visualize in your head you flying out of your body. it takes practice, but it's SO COOL. the difference between astral projection and lucid dreaming is that lucid dreaming occurs in a dream, and AP ocurs outside of a dream. but yes, they are very close and could be assumed as the same thing. |

I don't mean to sound like a pretentious prick... but you guys have it all wrong. There are 6 senses, not 5, sight, smell, taste, hearing, touch, and PROPRIOCEPTION. |

Is God willing to prevent evil but not able? Then he is impotent. Is he able but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Whence then is evil? ~ Epicurus
When I go to the movies I do a little exercise. Some might find this stupid, but I've always done this just to test my senses. First I close my eyes and while my eyes are close I listen to everything in the theater. I've learned to single out noises this way. After that I allow myself to try to see from different places within the theater. I haven't had much success with that part because each time I think that I'm seeing with my eyes closed something happens that make me aware it is cracks in my eyes. I like to pratice though in heavy noised areas because it gives me further control over my senses. |

Proprioception can be a bad thing. Some people, after they lose a limb, they still feel phantom pain, like they still feel they have it! If you want to learn more about the subject, check out a book called "The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat" by Oliver Sacks. That book is filled with interesting (true) stories about the mind. But if you want to feel proprioception for yourself, just get yourself into a state of sleep paralysis. For me, my arms are the most numb, so just try to lift that body part with your eyes closed (for me, my arm). If you don't have anything above your arm and you have no feeling in it still, you will think your arm is now raised above the bed, but if you open your eyes you will see it hasn't moved at all (it's a really strange feeling when your body realigns itself). Although I do believe in proprioception, I do not believe that this supports astral projection. |

But have you ever been able to obtain new information about things, such as objects and places, that you would know nothing of normally? |
