Is it possible to mess with the real world while you dream?

I have had a few dreams similar to the one I am about to say...

I was sleeping, and I dreampt about my mom walking the dog down the road. The dream was very realistic, and it was though I was there, but just watching the event take place. She was walking down the road, and I was wondering if I could alter this dream like I do my other dreams. I tried a simple experiment that was easy to do in other dreams, I concentrated on the wind blowing in a gust, and it happened. The trees and leaves violently blew, and the dog (a jack russel terrier) jerked the leash out of my mom's hand and ran toward my direction while barking. Using my dream controlling skills, I made him walk back to my mom. The leash that she was using was the red leash, which she does not normally use because it was shorter.
When I woke up, I heard the door shut and found out that my mom just got back from walking the dog. I went out and greeted her, and the dog started barking at me, which was wierd, but she just stuck him in his kennel. Then she told me that the dog almost escaped, and then I stopped her, and asked her what leash she used, because I was thinking "no way". She responded that she used the red leash because she could not find the other one. This was another shock to me. Then she started to tell me the story of how the gust of wind came, and the dog was running and barking and then stopped and went back to her, which he never does because he wants to just run around. By the time she finished, my mouth was hanging open and I was both shocked and in disbelief.
I did not tell her what I had experienced, because she is not one to believe in that sort of thing, I just said that we were lucky that he did not run away.

Please tell me what this could be because I have no idea. I have been afraid to tell anyone because they would just think that I was crazy or making something up. Please help me.

I'm not going to say its "impossible" because there are a lot of things in the universe and physics and such that are pretty crazy and hard to believe. However, I am the type of person that usually does not believe in this kind of thing. I see dreams and nothing more. I am pretty tempted to say it was just a coincidence. A very unlikely one, but stranger things have happened. Dreams are just chemical and electrical signals in your brain. Nothing that would effect the real world. I'm not going to go any further than that. I know we have some people on this forum that are pretty obsessed with the whole "mind over matter" and TK and other stupid powers, so I'm not going to argue over it; just telling my opinion. So yeah... probebly just a very highly unlikely situation that happened in both your dream and in RL on the same day and time.

Sometimes dreams predict the future. Perhapes your dream saw into the future? You might also have astral projected, being as how you saw your mom and dog in real time doing the same thing as they were really doing.

There are some things humans simply don't understand, no matter how much we'd love to pretend we know everything.

Prophetic dreams are few and far between, to say the least.
I can't count how many times I've had some sort of seemingly supernatural dream, that turned out to be a quite normal and not prophetic or shared.
It's possible, but unlikely.

Dear Draidum,

Don't put the cart before the horse. What you had was an Out of Body experience of sorts. What you think of as Control was only your perception of the wind picking up accompanied by your willingness to fool yourself.

But the Out of Body perceptions were real enough.

you may want to read the "carlos casteneda" books, his benefactor "don generao" had similar experiences, where he would go out of body and lay in the grass close by, upon waking he would go to the spot he was laying and find a dent in the grass the same shape as his body. they followed these practices to the extreme where by they could be awake in two places at once and interacting fully in both.

man, that is awesome, its rare to find anyone who can verify their dreams like that


but hell, you are basically astral projecting while you sleep, and when you astral project you become considerably more intune with the earth's consciuosness, it sounds possible to me that such a thing would happen, i mean ive made myself insane and literally switched the order i experienced something in (that was interesting)

basically me and my family were going to go to get dinner and rent a movie from blockbuster

and i figured it logical that we get the movie first then get dinner (we were picking up something to go) but instead we got the food first

well i did some... shall we say insane stuff, kinda like a dance where i fool the earth into thinking im insane, lol, and we went to blockbuster and as soon as we finished there we went to get food, and the whole time i was thinking (man we already did this, lol, wtf)

and the entire conversation i had with my little brother i was simply able to go into my subconscious and repeat it by thinking it to myself, and then i finished it with another comment and we went home

haha, reality is too easy to fuck around with :D

Its really good to use for clearing up issues such as if you always get angry at something or someone (while awake) then you can ask the dream to give you a solution, which you then act out when awake. Amazing resolutions can come from this.!
