Getting help from spirits?

What sparked my interest in lucid dreaming was when my dreams started to seem more than what they were.

2 years my boyfriend passed away and ever since from the day he died to now I see him in my dreams. But everytime I do, I always interact with him and talk, getting answers to things that I hadn't wanted to know.

In one case I was trying to find something that belonged to him in my house. In my dream I woke up and found him standing next to my bed. He didn't say anything to me, he just started walking so I got up and followed him throughout the house. He led me downstairs into the basement and started pointing at the closet door. I gave him a strange look and he walked over to the door. He opened it, reached in and pulled out his jacket that I had been looking for. I was so happy he found it then I woke up. It was about 5 something in the morning and I shot up out of bed with a flashlight taking apart the closet downstairs. No luck I didn't find it. I got upset and started screaming "Why show me the damn thing if it isn't even in the house" because I was under the impression it got left behind in my old house (we had just moved). Next thing I know I tripped and fell, to prevent myself from falling I grabbed onto the sleeve of one of the jackets. When I pulled myself back up, the jacket that I was holding onto was indeed the jacket I had been looking for that he found in my dream.

At first I was completely focused on him, so at night I would think of reaching out to him and he would appear. Later on it got harder to concentrate and seeing him became rare. Now it's starting to stir back up and I want to know how to concentrate and focus more so I can talk to him again.

That's an interesting experience you mentioned. Keep an eye on my posting in this same forum "dreams with deceased people in them". Something may turn up there that could be of help to you. I'm not sure about any of this afterlife stuff but if it happened that your boy friend showed up in your dream as a result of his intention [as opposed to yours] and he doesn't show up again it could be that he's moved to another level and can't access your dreams again. If that's the case be thankful for him. Now that's just a guess for your consideration. I sure don't know the answer. Let us know how it works out for you with him in your dreams again.

I'm sorry to hear about your boyfriend :( I hope you feel better about it because of these experiences.. because they seem pretty positive? :)

I personally do believe that those who pass away can visit us in our dreams. Of course not everybody experiences this, or maybe we do, and we just don't remember.

I can't really tell you if it's really him or not.. what do you feel? Do you think it's him? I think our heart usually tells us the truth.

As for talking to him.. you do have to realise that it is not natural for us to communicate with those that have passed on and have become spirits, on regular basis. I think we can only talk/directly communicate with them, so much. This to me would explain why you would see him less over time. When somebody first leaves us, we are in pain and they can comfort us. But ultimately, we have to stand on our own again.

Of course, it would be great if we could just talk to them in ours dreams, like talking on a phone. But it would require great spiritual abilities to do this.. and even then. I don't think that would happen too often, it's not very natural.

However, like I said I believe it is possible and not at all 'forbidden'. We can communicate with spirits for guidance, comfort or spiritual insights. In your case that would be comfort :)

I wouldn't try to force it too much.. I know it's hard (trust me I do) but it's going to happen if it's supposed to. Otherwise it really won't, unless you posess some remarkable gift. He knows your always open to him, and will always welcome his presence with love. So when he needs to see you, or you need to see him, he will be there.
You were looking for that jacket, because it meant a lot to you, didn't it? It was something simple, but it was his. He knew that :)

And besides, I think he's probably there more than you think. If you remembered all your dreams and started looking at them carefully, you'd probably see lots of signs of him! Maybe not him quite so directly appearing, but love like that, always transfers, I believe in that. With all my heart :D Maybe direct communication is not natural, but love is as natural as it gets. And it leaves it's marks, I'm sure ;)

And hey, maybe he will just drop by, 'just because' or, for fun. Who really knows how it all works? :wink: I hope he does, for you.

But.. if you really, really want to communicate with him in a more direct way, I suggest seeking help from a spiritually 'paranormaly' gifted person. But that's very hard as there are many, many frauds and cons out there. Finding somebody like that, would take a long time and require your heart and intuition. So be really careful about this! If you even want to. I'd be a little reluctant about this, myself.

At the time it didn't seem like such an unnatural thing. But I do notice that when something important is about to happen or something is really on my mind he'll appear in a dream and we'll talk or he'll say something or tell me to remember a certain word which is suppose to ring a bell to something in life.

It is hard because even though it''s almost been 2 years, it really hurts and I find myself lingering more than when he first died and his first year.

I write down every dream I have with him, the symbols and key phases he would say, those are ones that I remember very descriptively and oddly enough I can go back on memory with them as if they were real events.

The last time I saw him alive was on a tuesday, he died that following saturday, for the first year every dream I had from him, he always came on a tuesday (b/c he took those days off of work to see me in life) and it made me smile because it felt like he was keeping his promise to always visit me, let alone still keep the 'Tuesday visitation'. I miss him dearly and I do wish there was a way to talk to the decease frequently...my how high my phone bill will be. But then again you have people who are skeptics and don't believe b/c they hadn't experienced it who will try and make you feel bad saying it's nothing but stuff in your head.

Well, it seems like I was at least in the right direction saying that he'll be there for you, when you need him most :)

You've been feeling more down about it lately, and his appearences become more frequent? That would make sense, he would try and help you be happy again.

However sad.. yeah, it'll never be a phone that allows us to talk to souls in the spirit world on daily basis. You betcha I'd have a high-phone bill too ;)

I was wondering, have you had other 'spiritual' or 'paranormal' experiences before he died or when you were a child? Because like I said, not everybody with deceased loved ones experience this.

If not, then your connection was and is probably very strong. :)

And about the sceptics.. don't let them get to you! They have their opinion and you have yours. You know in your heart that there is more than just this 'world' and your boyfriend is out there, existing one way or another. We might not know the details to how the afterlife might look.. but it's there :)

And like I said, you might not be able to always communicate directly, but you'll always communicate through love. I am a strong believer that if two people really love each other unconditionally (or close to it) and send out this love, the other will feel it, one way or another :) Especially those that passed away.

No, it was just with him. I loved him very much, we used to go on on how we were soulmates and how long it took us to find each other. Though some like to point out that if we were he wouldn't have died, but when have you ever seen in a movie when someone does find their soulmate it ends with a happy ending?

He promised me before he died that no matter where he went or whatever happened to him he would always come back to me and never leave me.

Sometimes I catch myself looking for physical signs that he is around, it happened once on the anniversary of his 20th birthday (he died at 19) and the experience was something so purely out of a story, I rarely bring it up.

We had this unconditional love, when we would go on seperations and try and be with other people we'd be supportive, share opinions and eventually find our way back. I wonder alot that when my time comes will I be able to find to him? Like...ok i'm using Titanic as an example (yeah movies lol) in the end when Rose died an old woman warm in her bed like Jack had promised, she turned into her teenage self and met up with everyone on the boat on the grand staircase there stood Jack waiting for all this time. I wonder if it'd ever be like that and wonder would I be able to leave marks or people like he is leaving on me.
