Is Salvia divinorum connected with Astral Travel?

I have been reading accounts of use of Salvia Divinorum and there are repeating signs that show a correlation between the drug and Astral Travel.

Tingling = the flow of energy throughout the body.

As I exhaled I felt a curious tingling sensation on the top of my head. [/b]
The state that usually envelops me is a calm mentholated tingling that seems to cloak my body with a downward pressure or heaviness. [/b]
Suddenly, about the time I exhaled, I felt a warm wave quickly sweep through my body, staring at my feet and flowing upward. [/b]
The Energetic flow of energy through the etheric body STARTS from the feet!

      -------------
The Zipper = Interdimensional Travel in the Astral Plane. Anything is possible in the astral plane.

As I focused on the lines, they began to widen. Later I would remember this widening as the lines growing into fractal-like bands. At the time, I thought they looked rather like zippers. [/b]
First of all it was as someone had zipped open reality, from the upper right corner of my periphery towards the left down corner, by means of a grotesquely big zipper. In what was uncovered I was no longer connected to my personality nor reality, though after a while I did have some recollection and reflection about how it usually was. The borders of normal reality, of my own room, where still visible but no longer conceptually connected to their normal function, name nor familiarity. No, now these things where part of a strange vision which I was. [/b]
The edges of the rip where sort of undulating as if there was some type of wind or current flowing out from within, what can only be described as, a void. Within the rent was a pitch blackness like I have never seen in my life. The edges of this undulating rent had the herringbone pattern I saw earlier, which sort of gave the whole rip the appearance of a zipper, but it wasn’t a zipper. The rest of the room was visible but it seemed to be fading out. [/b]
Isn't it quite strange that these things are recurring themes in use of Salvia Dinorum? Perhaps it effects our etheric body so much that we unwillingly project into the astral plane unknowingly?!

      -------

      Other mentionable effects:

As I tried to get up, it felt as though my body was being sucked into something, or that the part of the bed I was sitting on was melting away and me with it. It was definitely a physical feeling of being pulled downward to the right and into something. I opened my eyes and saw deep blackness in front of me. [/b]
The astral body seperating and sinking? If he knew how to control his astral body, could he have explored much further?

Also there's a noticeable darkness that occurs in almost every time I read these.

The trips are actually quite interesting, I recommend reading the ones with the stronger dosages.

Seems worth it to me. I think the best would be to make a tincture.

Yeah, I saw that, I suspect it is him, but he never replied my PM...

... I hear you can have very traumatic experiences with S. Divinorum...

The few times i tried S.D. it produced some intense and fascinating results.

One, i believe, was an encounter with the feminine deity that resides in the plant - after smoking it I was entwined with green, leafy vines that kept wrapping around my body continuously.
It felt bizarre and a little scary, however I felt a feminine presence and a secure feeling of love within the vine (?) - it was an incredibly intimate feeling.

Another time I used it, whenever I closed my eyes I was in a place in a distant past, surrounded by an Amerindian tribe of men who were looking at me with curiosity and concern - like I had been hit on the head and they were seeing if I was 'alright'.
This connection wouldn't go away for 10 minutes - it was amazing - like an partial astral time travel.
A few nights prior to this I awoke in lucid dreaming with these same Indian men who handed me an Indian Quena (flute) and asked me to play it - I replied 'Well, it's been a long time' to which they laughed.
At the end of the lucid dream i asked their names so I could remember them when I awoke and one man said seriously "Tiawana-Ko".

      I thought, Hmmmm, that's a nice name.
I looked up tiawanako in my world book and discovered they were a group of people in pre-columbian Bolivia in times past of such a name!!! (Tiahuanaco)
      S**t! Wow!
Well, that's where I get my love of Andean folk music from I guess.

      Salvia

Salvia is some pretty strong stuff. If you happen to get a potent plant. Sometimes it's kinduv a dud. I've had some pretty intense experiences for very short amounts of time on it. However, I have to say - be really careful if you use that stuff. Part of your high (and that cold, heavy feeling) is from loss of oxygen to the brain. So if you do very much for very long, it's not too hard to give yourself brain damage. Other times, you'll get a horrible headache that won't go away until you sleep it off. A couple times, I have heard some really out of this world music on it. Not a western scale at all. Sounds like East Indian music to me. But electrified and intensified. If you're into experimenting with the chemicals in your body, I'd certainly give it a go. There is no other drug like it. But seriously, again, be careful. Oh and I agree, smoking it is hard work. I had to take like 4 or 5 bong rips full before I got to the crazy levels. Otherwise you just feel kinda cold and heavy. Very weird sense of gravity. As for astral travel, I've only done it a few times in dreams. But basing my opinion on those few experiences... I'd say maybe the drug puts your body to sleep really fast, while alerting your mind. Like a super OBE maybe. But because it comes on so fast, it's very difficult to control. I usually just watched and listened. Oh, and it's a lot better in the dark. Once I sat in the dark garage with my friend and we literally saw words coming out of our mouths, then saw things projecting from our third eye region. I always get this very creepy feeling though too. Anyway, third time... be careful if you try it. Please! And as always, I say -- Dreams over drugs, any day.
Just a friendly reminder to do a reality check. : ) Are you dreaming? How do you know?

      So TRUE, 42!

People be careful with Madame Salvia!!

The ominous feeling is very intense, acting as a definite warning to tread carefully with her.

Love her with respect as you would handling a powerful animal.....like a wild cat or a snake.

I have had a bit of experience with salvia and have had a few enjoyable experiences and a few that werent that great but nothing BAD. The most noticable effect (which made me also think it could be linked to AP) is that it makes me feel as if im about 4 inches to the right of my normal body, ther eis a definate feeling of being lifted up, all my libs go light and cold and I feel as if I am being jolted out of my body kinda.
I have also experienced the 'lady salvia' thing but only once and it was deeply spiritual.
First I was looking at the wood grain on my table when suddenly it started to ripple then changed to large sand dunes. I felt as if I was out on the plains somewhere sitting around a campfire with a few other people. I also got a big feeling of 'ancestry', I felt as if I was connected to all my blood relatives through the ages, as if I could feel my family line sending vibrations through time.
Then I felt the Lady, it was salvia accepting me into her arms. I felt extremely protected and mothered, like a small child. It was a definate female presence and very calming. It was like I was being let in on some long forgotten secret. It was very interesting.

[EDIT] Wow, Ive just read lunar_feline_wanderer's post after writing this and Im amazed! I also read a few reports on erowid that describe this feeling of being back in time and feeling an ancestry too.
Amazing stuff, I am now encouraged to do it again.

I've done lots of research and experimenting with Salvia Divinorum. I even wrote a paper on it for my last english class. I've used regular leaf, chewing a quid, and made my own extract as well. This is crazy stuff and not to be taken lightly. It takes you and rips you out of this existance for about 5-10 minutes and you are no longer a physical being, you are simply just something else.

Yes, it's definitely not a party drug.

I intend to buy 100 grams of it and refine it myself into a powder.

I’ve done Salvia Divinorum roughly 12 times in the past two years. I’ve smoked it, chewed it and done it in a tincture form the most intense of these various methods being smoking it out of a bong and the tincture. I can testify that it is a very powerful psychotropic drug that is in fact connected to the astral plane and is to used with the up most of caution and respect for the spirits that are connected with it.

With all that said I’ll give you a few brief accounts of some of my experiences with it.
The first time I used the plant was in an enhanced leaf form I smoked a fair amount of a pipe of mine. Within about five minutes I felt an odd shift in reality and the light spectrum, it was nighttime I was standing outside and began to notice that the stars in the sky began to shun a lot brighter, this wasn’t all that exciting to me at first until the black of the sky began to turn an almost grayish color and the stars who moments before had become blinding began to almost vanish in the haze that was the firmament above. I looked around my surroundings and realized I could see threw the night now at a normal distance if it had been broad daylight out. I went to take a step and realized gravity was distorted and I feel into the brick wall of the building I was in front of. Leaning against the wall sitting now I closed my eyes and heard what seemed to be distant voices chanting some tribal hymn of some sort. The voices grew softer and more faint until finally they were gone; I opened my eyes to the normal world.

Another notable experience I had was a time I smoked some out of a bong on top of some cannabis, the room I sat in became filled with what looked like tiny silver fairies that fluttered around me, I felt like a new born that time like everything I saw was brand new to me.

Doing the tincture always provided a kind of warped semi out of body experience for me where as one poster stated above I’d feel like my conscious had shifted slightly out of my body, I was laying down and I’d have a sense that I was floating above myself or trying to pull out of my body. If I’d stand up it would be like I was looking down at myself for a brief moment then I’d feel a slamming sensation and I’d fall down and it’d be extremely hard for me to move a muscle until the drug wore off.

The only truly bad experience I could say I had was when I was living with my ex g/f and her family. There house was haunted I can testify to this anyway I bought some enhanced leafs we both took a large bong hit of it. I was sent into a trance instantly I laid back on the bed and shut my eyes. I had a vision of a graveyard (or something similar too) and figures that could only be described as shadows doing something to a body. I next shifted into the body they were molesting, threw dead eyes I saw what appeared to be men dressed in cloaks burying me alive, it began to rain behind them and it was like I was trying to climb out of the dirt but couldn’t. I next heard and saw threw the ground (if that makes sense) Bull dozers clearing the land, then the sound of men building something on top of me probably the house. I came out of the vision state and the next day I spent extremely depressed I cried several times for no reason really.

But for the best Divine Sage leafs extracts an tinctures I’d suggest going to www.sagewisdom.org the guy that runs it is legit and has been growing and selling the substance the longest on the net.
A warm embrace under the moons illuminated shadow.

I did Salvia for the first time in a while last night. The experience was the same as always for me, excpet I kind of freaked out a little bit. Anyways, Last night I had 2 more lucid dreams, bringing me up to 5 since I started 3 weeks ago . I'm curious as to if the Salvia had anything to do with this.

It seems that a tincture would be better for exploring the effects of the drug because it makes the trip more moderate, then you can up the dosage and figure out your hallucination range.

Ever since I have been trance meditating, I have gained a different opinion on drugs than I previously had.

I no longer feel the need to use them in recreation.
