      dangerous???

sometimes when i lapse into my semiconscious state i feel and electrical surge radiating out from my forhead and thru the rest of my body. and ive had partial OBEs as well.

last week i started dozing off, but became semiconscious ( more so than not). my body was tingling and the electrical surge started, so i concentrated and made it stronger. but this time it got so strong that it was kinda starting to hurt. then it started pulsating and was now only felt in my brow and at my temples. then it got so intense i could see a black spot in each eye pulsing in sync with the electrical pulsing. at that point i became concerned that this was affecting me on a physical level, so i toned it down, but instead of coming totally out of it, i started lifting out of my body. it couldnt have been more than a couple inches, cuz i was looking at the fan on the floor by my feet. i felt something pull away from my back. but then my daughter came and wanted me to see the baby. i could hardly move, i felt so drained, it took a few mins before i could stand up.

my concern is the pulsing affecting my eyes. have you ever poked your closed eye on the white part and seen a black circle with a lit up edge? thats what i saw. was this getting potentially dangerous??? and i wonder what the tugging was i felt on my back. my forhead felt feverish and slightly achy for a while after i came out of it, too.

I couldn't say for sure, but I'm sure in one of Robert Bruce's books, he writes that the sensations you feel when you're about to exit can feel really physical when in reality they are happening to your astral body, so you're not in any danger of physical harm.

I think he said these feelings are usually more pronounced in the middle of your chest around the heart and it feels like your heart is racing unbelievably fast but in actual fact it isn't, it's actually the heart chakra and that fear or anxiety about these sensations can be an obstacle to exiting your body. So maybe that's why you were pulled back.

The tugging on your back, pulling you back, could also have been due to lack of relaxation. Bruce said that not relaxing properly first is the biggest reason for failure among the majority of people.

Maybe you had low energy levels which is why you felt drained afterwards. Bruce also suggests raising energy beforehand.

However, I'm not a doctor and it could be dangerous!

I've experienced many strange sensations in the trance-like state before WILD (or if you believe it to be AP/OBE whatever). The vibrating, the electrical surges, the loud buzzing in your head. Sometimes it felt like my head would be throbbing so hard it might explode. I've also seen very strange things in this stage as well.

Just remember that there is nothing physically happening to your body, and it is not in any harm. It's all in your mind. People for the most part are not meant to be conscious while entering sleep...so we were not meant to experience such things, and I think it causes our minds to act in strange ways. But that's all it is....is in your mind.
