I don't personally know anything about the questions you're asking, matt, but I'd recommend using the Search function and dig through the old threads. I know all this has been discussed before.
Now Burns, Leo's post was not useless.
Think of gathering energy as a drug. Then along comes mattdale, who asks how can I take this drug in order to induce it's side effects. While taking the drug for it's intended use is fine, taking it for it's side effects is questionable. That's why Leo said he may be barking up the wrong tree.
The fastest way to raise energy, that I am aware of, is (white) tantra. Sexual activity generates energy, and during genital orgasm, energy is released. The aim of the tantric practice is to generate the energy without releasing it.
Then you can do whatever you want with the energy, but I agree with Leo. Psychic abilities are a result of a healthy spirituality. I think that desiring a healthy spirituality in order to do some form of kinesis is missing the point.
