I must know! I must know!! Can anyone help?

After 19 years, I finally have a place where I can ask this question! (thank you, internet). First, let me give you a bit of my dreaming history. Since I was a teenager, I've had dreams where I could move stuff with my mind, and that I could levitate or fly. In these dreams, I never actually realized that I was dreaming. In my dreams, I always thought it was real. So I'm not a stranger to this type of dreaming.
But one night, when I was 17, I had a dream (?) that I was laying in my bed, on my back, looking up toward the ceiling. But I wasn't looking at the ceiling, I was looking at these "beings" floating directly above me. Even now, 18 years later, I can still recall that these things were transparent, several of them, all in a line from left to right. They were saying words to me that I've never heard before, and each word would echo away, like the delay effect that an electric guitarist would use. Of the words they were saying to me, I do remember one, the name "Horace". The next morning, I woke up, thought to myself, "hmm, that was a wierd dream", and thought nothing more of it.
Two weeks later, I was over at a friend's house playing darts. He was playing music I never heard before, which I found out was a tape of ELO. Anyway, at the end of a certain song was the EXACT same echoy "Horace...Horace...Horace...(fade away)" that I had heard in my dream two weeks earlier! The moment I heard it a shockwave of icy chill ran through my body.
1 1/2 years later, I was looking at album covers, when I came across an album cover that had a drawing of a guy in bed with spirits floating above him. "Wow," I thought, "That happened to me!" The album was Black Sabbath's 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath'.
So you can see why I'm curious about this. To add to the mystery, about 9 years ago I was in a relationship with a woman who worked with troubled teens. One night, we were in bed talking about intimate things about ourselves. And since we were together for about a year at that point, I felt comfortable enough to tell her about this experience. She was really surprised, and when I asked why, she went on to tell me about this teen that she worked with at one time. He experienced the same thing. Not the album cover and stuff, but the floating "things" above his bed.

Thats it.

So if anyone has any info, thoughts, opinions, guesses, or anything about this, please post!

I have to say what you described sounds like it would have been kind of creepy! Especially when you heard that song... :shock:

Maybe you heard the song somewhere before even though you didn't remember it, like from the radio sometime and when you were laying in bed you were dreaming and the song was playing in your dream... Well I'm far from any expert on stuff like this so.... :P

I've thought of the 'song playing back through the subconscious' and many other possible reasons, but I know that I've never heard that song before. It is definitely not one of ELO's radio hits.

The bad part is that it all still haunts and bewilders me to this day.

perhaps it was a psuedo-precognative dream...one where you reached out and grabbed some information or possibly random bits of the future...not really a precog, as its more random...i'unno like aphius, i am by no means an expert in this sort of thing...try Lucius, he's the man to go to when you think you're dealing with astral ^^ seri is good too

The thing about it all, though, is that someone, somewhere painted the artwork for that album cover years before this dream happened. I'd never seen that album cover before. Even if I did, the 'beings' on the cover were solid, and the things that I saw were transparent. The question as to why this painter created this particular scene never goes away for me. He or whoever told him to paint that particular picture must have had some type of motivation, reason, idea, or vision behind it. whatever it was I'd sure like to know.

My dream didn't have the skull, but the little beings are floating like in my dream, but they were smaller and transparent. Also, I seem to recall that they didn't seem to have legs, but instead more of a snake-type lower body, or no lower body at all.

did anyone ever see little shadow people? i know it sounds insane but i saw one looking at me, im guessing it was trying to study me or something. you ever laying down on a couch in the dark with just the tv on, and in the back its black but you would get those flashy lights from the tv? well the shadow thing was completely black and 4 feet tall about. i wasnt trippin or anything cause i told my buddy to look back cause he was on the pc at the time and he saw it too so it wasnt just me. happened about 2 years ago still remeber it well though kinda freaked us out. ( 4 am everyone sleepin no kids in house)

One more intriguing experience that perplexs the mind and complicates the ever-evolving knowledge about the mysterious world of dreaming.

I agree it might be a pre-cog type of dream. Aphius could also be right, and you could have heard the song before elsewhere...

The shared experience with the floating beings does intrigue me though.

I left out one detail, though, because I wanted to hear some opinions that weren't biased. I'll reveal that detail now. At the time I took an interest in the occult. Also, my (ex)girlfriend told me that the kid was an avid satan worshipper. Like I said, I didn't want anyone making assumptions before they gave their opinions.
On the other hand, maybe this detail will help someone figure out what the answer to all of this is.

Are you absolutely sure it was a dream? Perhaps it is a cloudy recollection of some sort of alien encounter... Do you remember what happened directly before and/or after? If there was any sense of lost time maybe you have your memory wires crossed... :?
In any case, i can't help you much in your endeavor - i just thought i might present another possibility to the mix. But just know that you're in a comfortable environment for this sort of thing. :wink: We're all undergoing our otherwordly misadventures together!

Chances are you might have been within the astral plane while seeing the spirits, or even a regular dream. I study(ied) the occult aswell, only I dont truely let myself in with the darkside much like a Satanist would do..

There are many sorts of spirits,deamons and the like, some we know of some we don't, some speak in languages we know of, most dont, did you ever try look up what "Horace" means? Might reveal something.

Furthermore, its hard to give much advice on this, to me it just sounds like an encounter with some sort of astral being(s) which is nothing to be scared about unless you actually worship the darkside and have very inpure intentions such as serious power and knowledge hunger and the like..but I dont think thats the case. :)

I've seen little black things. I suspect it might be something to do with our eyes. For example, try finding the edge of your eyesight. You can't. Apparently there's a "blind spot" in your eye where you can't see anything (I know it's true, I did an experiment that the book had. One moment somethings there, move the book closer and poof, it's gone).

I thank you all for welcoming me here! I appreciate the opinions I've heard so far and its helped me not feel so concerned about it. I guess weird things just happen sometimes. It has really been an influence on my beliefs, spirituality, etc. I'll go to my grave believing that there is more to this world than what we can just see and hear. Not everything can be explained with science.
As for shadow people, I've heard of that before from more than one person.

Cool dream, like Lucius said it might have actually been demons or some sort of spirits. I've also heard voices while asleep, didn't sound like a guitar though. Also I've never seen anything.

did you ever know some named Horace? This could be important in the future. Horace may be a important figure later on. But, it most likly is a cowinsidence (sorry I suck at spelling). Well, thats all the advice I have.

Plz dont remind me of those. Thats why im afraid to go to certain leves in which i can attain. But am affraid of those thingys. So i restrain myself and stay on the bottom level of the dreamworld. I know exactly what you mean by those shadowy things. 3 other ppl on DV have seen them 2.
