My husbands mother died around twenty years ago, long before he and I had met. My husband has recently had some unresolved issues about her death, (the way she died) and her ashes aren't with him, and I've always felt that they should be, after all he was her son. I've had two dreams, the first one happened a week ago. I walked into a beautiful place, I couldn't tell wether it was indoors or out. It was huge, and everything around me was white. No trees, no nothing, just vastness. As I walked into this place, there, standing off to the side, was my husbands mother. She was so beautiful, she had very long wavy hair, down past her shoulders, as if she had just had her hair fixed or curled. I noticed she was standing in a bed of clouds, and outside the little circle of clouds, was a very small black and white dog. The dog seemed excited and happy. I sensed that the dog didn't belong to her, however, the dog was with her. Without opening my mouth, I asked her, "Are you his mother?" And she replied "yes." I walked closer to her, and stopped two feet away. I felt very happy, calm and at ease. I felt like I wanted to stay with her!!!!! And she said to me, "You have to go". I felt that the reason she wanted me to go, was that she felt I had to be somewhere else. Then she said in a loving, yet firm way, "go". I noticed when I saw her that she was wearing a colorful skirt. She seemed very happy. I told my husband about my dream (not easy) and he said that she wore skirts only when she lived in Pheonix, and that was probably the happiest time in her life.

The second dream was much shorter. This time it was a house, but not hers. She opened the door, I walked in, and noticed she had the same skirt on, and I sensed that the dog was around somewhere in the house. We sat on the couch, and I sat next to her. I noticed that she made a concious effort to keep her feet off of the coffee table. She said one word to me in a friendly, but firm tone, "go". I sensed she wasn't trying to be rude or hateful, she was trying to ask me nicely "I told you already, you need to go". I got the feeling that she didn't want me to leave my husband or anything like that. That was the end of the dream.

I never met her, but when I first met my husband and found out she died when he was 20, I told him "she watches out for you". I believe strongly that she sent me to her. This dream has troubled both of us, and we are confused. It seems like she was trying to tell me something, I have a strong feeling that she wants me to watch out for my husband. My husband mentioned maybe she will leave soon, and won't be able to watch over him, and that's what she's trying to say.

Does anyone have any insight into this?

Shouldn't this should be in the Nightmares/Recurring Dreams forum, or maybe the Dream Interpretation forum?
