Ok I have been out of my dream body in my Lucid Dreams many times; would this be considered and OBE, or is an OBE when your out of your physical sleeping body and looking at your sleeping body in the physical realm?

If my memory serves me correct, I can't recall every leaving my body, AND the dream, to gaze on my ACTUAL physical sleeping body. <---- Is this considered a "true" OBE experiance?

An OoBE is actually looking at your physical body through your Astral or Mental Body. It is not a dream.

So then it's not looking at your dream body, being outside of it in the dream then. I see, but what is that? What would you classify as existing purely as a conscious force inside a dream with no need of a dream body? What is that called?

So how do I experiance a TRUE out-of-body experiance? What happens to my physical body when I leave it? It goes to sleep? What? Or am I in both places at once? How do I achive this, help me!

It would just be classified as a dream. In a dream you can do anything. Anything can be your dream body. In your dreams you can leave your body all you want. If you really wanted a term, you might call it FAP (Made up term, I just created it now ) or False Astral Projection.

Im not very experianced with achieving Astral Projection, but when you Project into the astral realm, your spirit/soul/energy/mind (Whatever pulls your fancy) seperates from your body. Your body remains, but you are free to wander the physical world as if it were your dream world. You can even manipulate some phyisical world objects.

HOWEVER, you are NOT in the dream world. You are in the physical world on the Astral Plane, thus still bound by some phyiscal law.

Interesting indeed, what is my body doing all of this time? To what degree can I act upon physical objects with my Astral Body.

Your physical body is physically resting. Its working as normal, just your conscious mind has left it.

I dont know to what degree, but from what I've heard you can, in some cases, if your high enough on the Astral Plane, appear as an apparition to people.

The control you have on the physical world, is unknown to me.

an OBE is experienceing this physical realm while your in your Dream/astral body. Astral travel is when you travel to other realms in dreams or meditation.

      my 2 cents.

In my opinion OBEs are lucid dreams. My second LD was an OBE, and I actually had the sinking feeling separating my body. I saw myself sleeping, in my bed, in my clothes and with our blanket etc. But one thing was off: I was sleeping against a wall, sort of leaning to it, but in reality there is no wall to lean on, so it was a very realistic lucid dream. What was weird about it was that I clearly saw myself as as having a bit more weight that I thought of myself, only to have my wife tell me later that day that I have taken some weight - like in my dream I saw myself more realistically than what I normally think of myself.

In another LD I started feeling cold and in the dream went back to the place in the dream world where my bed was and added a second blanket on top of my sleeping body. But this was in an environment where I lived some 30 years ago as a kid.

Good reading on the relation of LDs and OBEs at the Lucidity Institute:OUT-OF-BODY EXPERIENCES AND LUCID DREAMS

Yeah I agree I feel that OBE's are all Lucid Dreams. I mean it just sinks to well together. The experience of attempting an OBE is in the same relation to WILDing.

IMO, out of body experiences or astral traveling is different from a lucid dream in that lucid dreams still have some sort of story/background happening through your subconcious... Your subconcious is the movie player that has incredible control over the dream/astral plain/world/dimension...

If it is completely an astral travel/OBE you won't see any people, any weird goings on or anything, it'll just be you walking around wherever you are... It may look different though..
