I've always wanted to know is it possilble in any shape or form to Dream a life. Just like the ones were living right now but instead we can contoll it. I believe that if you die in your sleep and you are having a lucid dream then you are stuck in the dream for ever. I dunno if you guys see it the same way I do.

Forever dead? Sounds original but not quite serious...
I'm tired being sorry.

Why not? I mean I wouldnt mind that happening to me. After all we all agree that our lifes could always be better. And in the dream "life" We can live forever, and make it our own reality.

But I understod that you wanted to be dead for ever.
When it comes to live for ever, then it may be worth trying.

Hi, welcome dreamghost,
I wouldn't want to live forever the way we do now...
Scientifically, why would your dream keep on going after you die? Or does tihis something to do with astral planes (or something similar).

I think there was a miss understanding. I dont want to live forever in my current "live" state. I mean I would like to live forever in my "Lucid Dream State". After all its your dream life is it not? I mean it would be awesome if one day. You just sleep forever yet you, are Luciding for the rest of your "dream life". Thats what I believe in. No heave, no life after death (except your dream life) etc.

Thats why I think. I mean Ive always wanted to do that.

It wouldnt happen. Dreams are created in our mind. When we sleep, chemicals and image come together and our mind plays this, creating our dreams. When you die, the brain shuts down. With the brain shut down, the dream state is impossible. The dream would collapse on you or just fade a way, as you die. You would have about 6 minutes of amazing dreaming due to the chemicals released when you die, but then the brain itself would turn off. Any activity would cease, and your dream would end.

The only way to avoid this, would be Astral Projection if it is even possible. And that still may not save the dream mind.

That would suck, imo.

Who would want to live in that kind of world forever? There would be nothing new, nothing unexpected, no surprises. There wouldn't even be any real people to talk to.

I wouldnt mind it. It'd be interesting. You'd be God of your own world, and eventually after spending eons there, you would forget that its a dream and unexpected things would happen. It'd be like reality, except you can still do anything. But unfortunatly, its not possible.

You know what's cool about these questions? its that our minds are fully capable of figuring them out. we have the greatest computers in the world in our heads. Ive asked myself alot of these philisophical questions in my life and ive come up with conclusions to all of them... for ex. psychokinesis... I figured out that it had to be real through a procces of elimination. and now Im a advanced pk. huray for me.
though i havnt figured out the answer to this question, I have a hunch that there is a life after death where we're still conciouse... somehow.

Exobyts comment has made me think

... what if we ARE dead? Right now, all this is a dream, and we only think this is real because ... well, its a dream

(... I am probably only thinking this because I'm listening to Linkin Park)

Life after death...

Well think about it...

The universe is formed.... A planet through many many amazing coincidences, develops life forms.

These single-cell organisms eventually bond and evolve into multi-cellular organisms, which eventually evolve into us.

So, at this current time... Earth and all of it's inhabitants are here and are thinking. There used to be a time where there was no such thing as thought on our planet, and now it is there. Once we all die, that thought completely disperses?

This impossible... Thought is there, thought is gone?

This gives rise to me theory of plainwalkers. Alas, I will not share it with you, as I am writing a book about it.

continuing on the "What if we are dead already?" bit... We are. In the future you will die. The future is an aspect of time, which has all played itself in the universes omniscient existence. Now to ask yourself "Am I dreaming now?" leads ME to the questions...

"Okay... so if when I'm dreaming, I can fly if I will it so, why can't I do so now?"

Perhaps it is because we are in a plain of existence, coded by 4D existence, where our current dreamworld is governed by the set of parameters they have coded in. Whereas, our dreamworld are a simulation (or perhaps we are manifesting ourselves spiritually) of the 4D world. A coded in escape to the regulated world we inhabit. A portal in a sense... an unstable one though.

Yeah being immortal must be one of the most scarry thoughts ever. I could live with a normal dreamlike afterlife, but a lucid afterlife, no thanks.

Yeah, I would much prefer a non-lucid after life as opposed to lucid one at this time. My non-lucids are more bizzare, interesting, and fun actually.

I recommend you read up on Tibetan Book of the Dead written by Guru Rinpoche. I haven't read it fully, but I think you might find it interesting.

You might also want to read up on the 6 Yogas of Naropa.

All these are profound works that might answer your questions/give you a different perspective to think about.

They say 1 second in real life could equal 2 years in dream life, so it's possible. time is an illusion

Yes, but that six minutes could in some way be a life time, due to dreams not being restricted by time or space. I don't know, they kind of talked about this in Waking Life. I thought it was pretty interesting.

oh, because there is totally a way to tell that the dead stay in their dream. because so many dead people have already proved this.

...what a worthless topic

I wouldn't go to the degree as saying worthless, that's kind of harsh. However it's highly illogical. If it were actually possible I wouldn't mind having a Lucid After-life. I think that would be pretty cool.

so would i, but there is no evidence that this is possible and it therefore is a worthless topic.
