LSD creates a dream like state because it replaces the serotonin in your brain. Serotonin is a neurochemical that prevents dreams from happening when you are awake, among other things. When it is gone, you start dreaming on some scale. However, the serotonin loss can cause severe depression that lasts a long time. I have been through it, and it is why I have only done LSD twice. Fortunately, Prozac is synthetic serotonin, and it successfully snapped me back really fast once I got on it. |
|
How do you know you are not dreaming right now?
I'm confused...are you saying that serotonin depletion causes you to dream? Because I know that's not correct. And I'm also not sure about how serotonin keeps you from dreaming when you're awake...I've never heard this before so I'm wondering where you got that info. Thanks. |

A psychologist told me that 16 years ago. A psychologist is not the same as a psychiatrist. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor, but a psychologist is not. It turns out the psychologist had it backwards. Serotonin is part of what causes dreaming. |

If you want information on drugs, find yourself the book "From Chocolate to Morphinne". A fantascic book covering everything, it gives unbiased no nonsense facts. A must read for anyone who plans on doing any drugs or know people who do. |

I never said LSD made you smarter I said it causes more of your brain to be used which causes a dream like state even though you are awake. |

Think I'll stick to Dextromethorphan. Also considering trying Liquid Kratom. |

DXM? the robo trip stuff? Don't you puke and run the risk of something god awful happening to you without a sitter? |

Kratom is like weed, except it provokes depression... That's what I've heard... I've never heard of liquid Kratom though.... |

First, in response to SolSkye...it might be smart to have a sitter the first time you decide to explore the higher plateaus on DXM...but after that...it's not needed. DXM is ALOT of fun to do with very close friends. However the most enlightening experiences that I've had from it have been when I'm alone, in my bedroom, at night. Those are the best trips for me. Just amazing self discovery. |

LSD dosnt hurt your brain. do some research on erowid.org to find out more. the depresion you may get from xtc is caused at least in part not from problems recieving seratonin but just a perception change from exspieriencing the high, you could say your definition of what felling good is has changed. |
|
That is completely untrue. The depression is a result of your brain being extremely depleted of it's serotonin (more or less depending on how much of the drug you take). It takes at least 2 weeks for your brain to get back to normal serotonin levels after an ecstasy trip, so it's natural to feel depression immediately after...and for the two weeks following use. |

To be honest, I really have no clue about DXM other than what I read about it in the robotrip threads. I heard about the nausea and becoming lucid again in your own vomit or something so I was a bit biased. Other than that, It sounds pretty interesting. If there were a way around the side effects, I'd love to try it one day. |

One of the perks of living in Japan, is the prescription drug Erimin, otherwise known as, Nimetazepam. It's kind of like a painkiller/sedative but when mixed with alcohol can provide feelings of euphoria. I enjoy this thoroughly since it's legal and prescribed easily. Sometimes, If I take too many, or drink too much while on it, you'll enter what I call, a 'Time Hole'- where the user will be perfectly aware and talking to people one second, and then the next, is like a big skip a few hours later where you passed out, and everyone is now gone or asleep. Having absolutely no memory of what the hell just happened. It feels amazing, though. Like a bear going into hibernation. Hence the name, 'Time Hole'. |
