Here's a neat story:
I brought home two cell packs of planters one day, filled with soil. I planted two to three plants in each cell. It came out to be over one hundred plants. The seeds were obtained from a wide variety of places across the world/country.
Every plant starts out with three leaves as an infant, but as they grew older, I saw many variations. I had some with three leaves, seven leaves, five leaves, and one with eleven. Some were dark, some were light. Some had very wide leaves while others were narrow.
Then there was the freak.
This one I set aside, because I didn't think it would make it. It hardly grew any leaves. The ones it did grow were all deformed.
As these plants grew older, it was always the runt of the pack. While 'big boy', the biggest of the pack, was up to my knee, this thing was barely three inches tall.
I grew these plants indoors until they NEEDED sunlight, and then brought them outside. At this point the runt was a scrawny thing with probably 15 leaves TOTAL and they were all in three leaf clusters, but there was a lot of other growth that I couldn't identify. It was truly deformed. When I was carrying the runt out to its place in the field I received a shock! I looked down at it, and almost had to shield my eyes. In the sun it looked absolutely marvelous! It was so sparkly that I couldn't make out any distinct features. It was like I was holding a ball of glitter. I was amazed, and I immediately knew that I had mistaken the potential of this poor guy. I set him out in the sun and came back a couple of days later.
On my return trip, I discovered that he had shot up, and he had begun to sweat. He now had four separate branches with many internodes, and one MASS of flowers that seemed to join together. I could smell this plant from a dozen feet away.
I have grown an adult white widow plant. I have seen an Accapulco Gold plant that was the color of that gold that is on your cigarette packaging. ....But I have never seen such a beautiful plant.
I showed it to all my friends. They all agreed. This thing was definately one screwed up plant, but it was absolutely GORGEOUS!! I plucked leaves off and gave them to my friends every now and then, so that they could taste it, and they all agreed that it was one of the best tasting plants they had ever tried.
This plant grew a total of one foot before... the disaster. lol At this point, it had maintained the same composure. Many limbs, but one big mass of buds that fused together... SOMEHOW, and created the weirdest, most deformed... but most BEAUTIFUL plant you'd ever see.
Then there was the critter. I don't know what it was, but it chewed the CRAP out of this plant. I came to check on it one day, and it was mutilated. It was beyond repair. I didn't even try to replant it because I just knew better. The only thing I could do was to invite some friends over, smoke it, and cry. It hadn't reached its full potency, because I hadn't gotten a chance to run a heat lamp over it to make it really sweat, but two hits is all that was needed.
This was a wonderful plant. At least it made for a good story.
The end
