I have just one coment; Stephen King, Speilburgh, etc... , wouldn't you think it possible that there were fiction writters even then, excuse me more asumming but it seems very possible that even then there was a such thing as imagination. Where do you think dreams come from?

The Mayans were very smart. They predict that on December 21 2012 our world will come to an end. One recent thing is that since 1987 time has been speeding up. In fact a day from outside our galaxy appears to be 16 hours long. We still feel like it has been 24 hours only because of relativity. Not strange enough. Well on December 21 2012 our earth will be at the equater of the galaxy. Not strange enough? Our galaxy will be EXACTLY alligned with two other galaxies the exact date and time the Mayans predicted. 2012 is a very very scary year.

It does not matter how time is measured outside our galaxy, because of relativity. For us, 24 h is 24 h, no matter what.

If had a dime every time someone posted this , id be a rich mother f**ker. NO, I don't believe the world will end in 2012. Im not very religious anymore but I do believe this statment in the bible. It says not even the angels in heaven know when the world is going to end, mayans are in no comparison to angels. So, IMO, the world won't end in 2012.

yeah people are so misinformed, and the mayans that are still alive get very angered that people misinterpret that 2012 is the 'end of the world'
its just the end of this era, and a new one will begin during the winter solstice
apparently we have left the previous age in 1987 and are in a sorta transistory era which we have to keep the planet intact for the next age.

but yeah, its NOT the end of the world.

To be honest I have no real opinion on the subject. For all I know the world could end on 2012, and for many it will, but then for many the world will end today, and for many more the world will end tomorrow, etc.

The point being there is evidence that the world will end on 2012, and evidence that it won't; there is no proof either way, and we won't know until 2013 what happened during 2012. Even then we'll only know what we're allowed to know.

and if you aren't going to wait for the end of the world, then short of suicide or causing the destruction of the planet to occur sooner, what exactly can you do?

If you happen to be religious, whether a Muslim, or Christian, both the Koran and the Bible mention certain "signs" that the world is headed towards it's end. Right now, many of those "signs" are beginning to take place. Such as the imminent threat of a 3rd World War, and such obsessions as the Pleasure of The Flesh, which it seems is everywhere you look now. Now, wheteher or not this means the end of our existence entirely, or just the end of everything as we now know it, I do not know, but I believe something will happen. However, I'm not going to just sit around and dwell on that date, I'm still living on a day-to-day basis, just trying to enjoy my life.

the world will not end at 2012, but there seems to be a case for there being a new time period being made. i am sure if the governments did nothing to stop what was going to happen we would have a lot of disaters etc...

but for some reason that is not being told to the public there is something about the year 2012 and that new time period that is going to happen.

i do not understand this 2012 thing but i am sure that it will have a big impact on the human race and the earth etc... whether it is big enough for the gereral public to know i have no idea. but i would assume the governments are doing stuff to make sure we get through it ok.

There was more too, almost forgot. But when I went to "sleep" that night, (I have the sleep quoted because I believe on this particular substance that if you do it in the afternoon/evening time, then you will not really be entering into sleep, but more of a restful, meditative like state,) I had a "dream"/"vision"/whatever, and it involved my recent ex (whom I still deeply and madly love, for I believe she is my soul mate), me, and all of humanity. Now, basically what this dream entitled is that fate had brought me and my ex girl together for the reason of birthing the child that would be the negation of this existence. It would like the death and rebirth, like the second coming of christ, etc. It was equated to many belief systems. Our child was born on December 21, 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar, which is the date that many believe is the "end of the world", or at least a change in what we are. When the child was finally born, the universe exploded and imploded at the same time, and everything was gone except three: Me(the creator), my ex girl(the guardian), and our child(the prodigal son). Those parentheses are how it was equated in my mind at the time. We were to start the next cycle of life. I told my ex this, I think it scared her. I told it was only a dream, but she thinks I'm pretty out there, so whatever.

I know this is probley just a dream not a sign, but in the book I talked about earlyer it gives the story of the Atlantiens. The creater, gardian, and son sound vert simerler to me. Why does it matter? What are you going to do about it? From the sounds of it, we can't stop it from happening, can we? So what would you do if the government came out and said that 2012 was real? (Besides hopefully brush up on your English skills)

My point being - The end of "our" world (Our own individual worlds), whether it be a drunk driver next week or a catastrophic world event in 2012 is coming one way or another. So live with that knowledge. WHEN it happens is really immaterial. At least it SHOULD be.

I still don't believe it. It's a load of hogwash. Still, you are entitled to your own beliefs and I tell you now, if it comes to 2012 and something like this does happen, you are free to laugh at me as much as you want.

I 'gree.

Live life like you only have today. Tommorrow is not guaranteed... I'll admit I don't have this belief down yet, but it is a reality that we need to be more in touch with.

If you you are one of those fortunate enough to realize or understand this attitude, you will be able to remain cool and collective IF something like the scenario in 2012 were to actually happen. I think that many people are more caught up in the fascination of the possibility of cataclysm rather than truly being prepared for it (mentally or otherwise). To me, that's FOOlishness.

I dont think the world will end in 2012. We have a bigger chance of some former Soviet state setting off a nuke then the world changing poles. If you dont watch much of the news they did this interview on how secrure the nukes were in one of the old Soviet states they were just locked with simple gym locker type lock. I think theres a better chance of a nuke going off >.<

i think the world will not be destroyed. i think we will be here for thousands of years until the earth is swallowed by one big city then we would probably have no natural resources. and even if a comit hits the earth or something by then the could at least deflect if not then probably just move to a different planet
