      Seeing Ghosts

Ok so I was at work about a week ago and I had a pretty weird experience. First some background

so I have this internship where I basically sit and stare at my computer screen all day and dont have much work to do, and it gets pretty boring and I often doze off. especially if I had been out the previous night. I have seen "ghosts" from time to time either as I am dozing or as I am getting conscious again. Its like I will open my eyes and think I see a person in the corner of my eye and then when i focus it disappears. (PS i dont actually think they are real dead people so lets not turn this into a "are ghosts real" thread)

So one time as I was coming to I look under my desk and saw a little girl sitting underneath my desk indian style facing away form me. i focused and she was still there. it took about 5 secs for the image to fade and for me to realize just how odd when I just saw actually was. i felt like i was in the sixth sense or something.

I have done some research on ghost sightings and alot of the time it can be attributed to a tired mind deceiving one into seeing things, but I am wondering about being able to perceive the real world, while having dream illusions being incorporated. anyone else had something like that happen?

It sounds to me like hypnagogic imagery, or maybe hallucination caused by sleep deprivation.
The fact that it took you 5 seconds to realize how strange it was, shows that you were not fully awake, but on the border line between sleep and wakefulness.
