JulianKC52. I often carry on an internal dialogue in my head but I assume it's with my conscience. I've talked to/made requests of my subconscious but I don't "think" I've ever heard a response (though my request may take place).

I also sent you my reply.

I agree with Clairity, your inner dialogue is probably talking to your conscience. If you could talk to your sub-conscious, then it wouldn't be considered sub-concious any longer.

I can only see this possible in a dream. I've had a talk with a very smart dream character which I assumed to be my dream guide, and I was being given loads of information that I was not myself thinking about the time. It was like a completely separate entity in a very freaky but cool way.

While awake though, you just bounce back between yourself with reasoning.

I've tried to talk to my subconscious while dreaming by attempting to summon a dream guide.

What I've discovered about my subconscious (if that's what it is), is that it's a real smart ass.

I've talked in my head then in my head again. Sometimes i can talk about 3 things at once..it's hard and weird.

      talk outloud
      talk in my head
talk about something else in my head...all 3 at the same time.

I basically agreee with some of the previous comments about talking to dream characters. But I would add the qualifier that for this to be as meaningful as possible, you need to be lucid. I've had some very profound conversations with dream characters.

After reading this post I had an encounter with SP last night were I spoke to my conciousness while I was...Well it felt like I was "falling" asleep, but I am assuming that I was already asleep. I spoke to myself and it spoke back, but it had my voice =( I barely remember what I said, but I do remember saying something along the lines of "god kill me" cause I got embarressed. Then I felt really scared I would die because I said that so I retaliated with, "uh, nvm, let me live forever." right after that I entered into the most vivid lucid dream I've ever had, although it wasn't very long.

Oh yes! I've been talking with my subconscious ever sense I was a very small child, through the form of a imaginary friend. Now I still talk to my subconscious when I'm alone (I can usually only do it alone). I've learned many things about myself and current issues from my subconscious. Your subconscious can help you in a variety of ways, its usually much smarter then your regular consciounce. The way I communicate with my subconscious is to simply talk to myself. When I'm alone I can get in the roll of it and it like I'm talking to someone, in a way. I can usually tell whats my subconscious, because that "voice" will give me really good advice and bring me to understand things I didn't at first.

My subconscious is my best friend.

Does anyone else interview themselves? I'll be like randomly walking around outside or be in the shower and I'll be pretending I'm being interviewed. I don't think its really my subconscious but it is like I'm autoresponding to the questions. Almost like sometimes when you get called on in school or are giving a presentation, how you get kinda nervous and excited and can't really think, its more like you just go with the flow without thinking and talk in the way you think. Interviewing myself really helps with presentations and stuff or for studying. If I have a test I'll pretend I'm explaining the topic to someone else and that they are asking me questions about it and then I answer them too. It really helps to help you unravel things you don't completely understand and figure out what you don't know so that you can go study that.

Yes, and he says hi. Unless you're James Randi, in which case he says "Go to hell."

Do you people here know what the subconscious (sub-c) is? Your subconscious controls what you don't, for example, heartbeats, etc. It also takes over when you're asleep. It can also 'speak' to you, but not in voice, or sounds. It speaks to you in flashes of emotion and images. You'd know its your subconscious when you get this dejavu feeling. In order to be able to communicate with it, you must first quiet your mind.. preferably through meditation.
I myself haven't been able to communicate with my own subconscious, but it's been 'informing' me of certain minor things, like when a bus is coming round a corner, and what I would usually do is dismiss that information as my own thoughts that are probably gibberish. But then, yeah the bus came round the corner, and at that point in time I'd recall that 'gibberish thought' that told me a bus was coming round a corner, and suddenly know that it's not me making these up. Kinda like a dejavu feeling.

Here is one link from psipog.net:
      http://psipog.net/art-communicating-with-subc.html

It explains a hella lot about the sub-c, also, I started to know all these sub-c crap from there.
I'll have a sig soon, and to anyone who needs one, I have the ability to make nice sigs, but I'm just damned lazy to start work..

You can "talk" with your subconcious through hypnosis. Also if you believe that dream guides are the manifestation of your sub concious then that means you would be able to talk with your subconcious in lucid dreams. But actually carrying on a conversation with it in waking life seems a little impossible. (not saying it is)

This was a strange thread for me to see because I woke up wondering the same thing. I had a lucid, and at the end I was in a void, which sometimes happens to me. I had a conversation with three different voices in my head, none of which seemed to be me (not that I think they were anyone else; it was a dream); but that got me wondering if next time I could try to talk to my subconscious. It would be hard not to wonder if you were just dreaming the answers you got tho.

I'm still thinking about a dream I had the other night, in which I was a homeless crazy lady in an alley talking to myself. I became lucid, and for a moment my conscious mind listened to two other parts of my mind arguing with each other--then it all collapsed and it was just me. It was very strange.

It would suck to be crazy and have to hear that stuff all the time. I hope that's not what it's like to talk to your subconscious. I'm going to try it as soon as I can.

Please tell us what you experience when you try to speak to your subconscious again. Thank you.
