      Was this an OBE?

Hey everyone. I had an experience awhile ago and I'm still not sure what exactly happened to me. I would like to read anything you have to say about this.

Im sorry about this topic, I posted it half finnished by mistake

Anyway heres what happened. Some time ago I was looking in a mirror. As I saw myself, I suddenly got the strangest feeling. I felt like I really was looking at myself from the outside, Like I had slipped away from myself. The thought scared me really badly, so I quickly got away from the mirror. But the feeling stayed with me. It scared me enough to avoid my own reflection for a long time, all the while I felt somewhat separated from myself. The feeling passed with time. Does anyone know what I went through? Was it an OBE?

Mirrors are certainly mysterious objects. It doesn't exactly sound like a conventional OBE but maybe you could explain it a little more. It sounds like it could be a spontaneous OBE. What exactly do ou mean by looking from outside your body. I still get freaked out by mirrors alot especially at night. Basically a mirror can be like a crystal ball in that it reflects and that is what can show you things. I'd like to hear more.

I'm sorry it is hard to explain. While I was aware of still being in my body, that is, I could move it etc., I couldn't help but feel disconected from myself. When I looked in the mirror, the face I saw didn't seem to be mine. It was sort of like the tendancy for a word to lose its meaning the more it was said; the longer I looked at my reflection, the more it seemed like someone else's.

No I wouldn't call that an OBE. I think it happens to all of us every once in a while. It's almost like when you usually see yourself in the mirror you just accept that thats what you look like but if you actually stop and pay attention to what you look like you feel like thats not really you. I think its something to do with not seeing yourself alot except in mirrors. I think we percieve ourselves as the way we feel and think instead of the way we look. That thing about words losing there meaning happens to me all the time. I will type a word then being reading back over what I wrote and I won't be sure if that word is right and then I won't remember typing it and I forget what it means.

I had a weird OBE but think it was just a dream. Trying to WILD I rolled out of bed and looked up to see my body still sleeping, but I was on the floor. I'm sure this was just a dream though but I was so freaked out by this it woke me up.

I WILD in my dreams alot and get weird results but never realize its a dream unless the WILD is successful (only happened once). As for actual WILDing I never get anything because I never do WBTB and if I wake up in the middle of the night then I'm either too tired to try it, or possibly scared from all the stories of loud noises and hags, etc. AdamA, I wouldn't rule out an OBE, I have some books by Robert Monroe on them and what you do is just like a WILD. People think OBEs are just WILDs but by what he talks about in the books about actual things happening, I think theres something more to them.
