      Crazy Vibrations

Last night I wake up from a dream lying on my side but didn't move; I was still in SP and wanted to try a WILD. After about thirty seconds of lying there I heard a plane coming from somewhere and travelling in my general direction. I ignored it and tried to clear my mind. As the plane got closer it felt like I was shivering, and I ignored this too. The plane sound like it was flying over the top of my house and the whole house was shaking violently. Assuming my mind was playing tricks on me I tried to ignore this but I couldn't help my heart rate jumping considerably because it wasn't scary so much, just strange. The noise was at a volume I would usually find unbearable but for some reason I could stand it and it almost felt like I was consumed by the huge noise. My body was vibrating at the same rate as the planes motors and while this was going on I felt my body roll over totally by its self. After this the plane flew away, the sound got smaller and the vibrations slowed to a stop. I'm not sure if the plane was real or a hallucination, it felt like it was flying over me for a lot longer that the average plane.

This is not the first time this has happened; it happened one before with a plane once with and irritating air horn and once with a truck noise. Each time I slowly wake up and the sound comes from a distance and grows to consume almost all of my other senses. I was not at any one time scared; in fact I hardly felt any emotions at all.

So what do you reckon this could have been? I highly doubt is was dreaming as the transition from vibrations to stopping and being able to move was so smooth and it just felt so real. I know you're supposed to feel vibrations before an OBE but this feels like nothing I had ever read about. Any ideas what's going on/ has anyone else ever experience anything like this?

Hynogogia? Hallucinations are common when you're WILDing, and vibrations occur too (its the SP setting in). Maybe your mind was trying to rationalize the vibrations for you with the plane.

Your experience existed only in your mind. As webmaster suggested, your mind was trying to justify vibrations because it cannot handle the idea of them happening spontaneously while you are conscious.

As for your heart rate increasing, I often find that when I am in a hypnagogic trance, the slightest thing makes my heart rate increase, if it startles me even in the slightest amount.
