LDing is a pretty cool thing that I picked up from this site however I also learned about shared dreaming and it tottally freaks me out . Wouldnt you be bothered if any old SCHMO walked up in your dreams at night? Its kinda like mind RAPE! you know what I mean. ( MEGA PRIVACY (INVASION!) Have you ever had a shared dream? How do they work? Do you need consent to get in the other persons subconcious?
Someone highly adept at lucid dreaming might just be able to wander into your sleep and feck with you. You'll find that no one really wants to, however. At that point, where they could walk into your mind, that'd be black magick, and you'd need some help in that arena. Chances are, though, it won't happen, so sleep easy!
not had a shared dream that I recall. Ones that I thought were shared dreams were when real life friends were in the dream - then I ask them later about the dream, and they know nothing. I could just ber on the wrong side of the pond, but I've had no bites regarding shared dreams or infiltration.
That's something that cannot work unless you are knowingly telepathic. I don't talk much about that here, due to the mean skepticism it's likely to produce. But you're safe from that. No one can enter your dreams.
I would be freaked out by that mind-raping. But it's much to unprobable to worry abut. If I worried about people coming into my dreams, I might aswell start worrying about dinosaurs jumping out of my wall... which is also quite unprobable.
I find it very hard to believe someone could enter my dreams! i wouldn't worry :)
if some one entered my dream and i was lucid id bash em but i dont thing they would be botherd to enter
Shared dreaming is real.
It happened between me and my brother once. We both awoke at the same time, and I woke up saying something from the dream, and we confirmed it ourselves.
I already wrote about it as a reply to another thread about shared dreaming. I can guarantee, it was absolutely real. However, I believe that it can only be done by people within close proximity. So some random guy across the street will not be able to rape your mind.
Shared dreaming has no real evidence to back it up, after all, we could just say that we all had the same dream last night but who would believe us, evidence is required to make these things a fact or not. I mean ok, if you have proper evidence to back it up prove me wrong, but nobody can technically invade your mind and thoughts, it would only be an creation in your mind that someone was doing so.

There is no proof of shared dreaming, none. As fun as we all found that Spongebob episode, it's not going to happen in real life.
There's no real proof of a lot of things, and yet many people still believe in them. It all depends on whether or not you want to believe the first-hand accounts people give of shared dreams-- are they making it up, was it coincidence, or did it actually happen? Some people will choose to believe them, some won't; some people need hard, scientific fact to believe something, others don't. I doubt anyone who says they've had a shared dream could ever convince someone who didn't want to believe them that they are real.
I wouldn't worry though, sweetlilmiss. Whether you believe it or not, the chances of something terrible happening are slim to none, as either (1)shared dreaming most often occurs between people who are very close in real life, or (2) you don't believe in it at all, and therefore it could never happen. :)
it breaks way too many laws of science. not gonna happen, sorry.
It could be possible by reading eachothers brainwaves. But I think there is no such organ that could do that. Ofcourse I have no professional knowledge, but the "mind controlled" mouse works on that sistem, meaning we do send our thoughts into space.

This is assuming of course that we're looking for physical proof. Beyond that, energy bodies and vibrations could very well enable shared dreaming, if perhaps both/all dreamers are open to the idea, and are actively seeking to have shared dreams. Belief seems to be as strong a requirement for shared dreaming as any; this seems to be edging on the realm of astral projection/OBE's.
I would definitely not be in fear of somebody "mind-raping" you, however! IMHO, to actually attain a shared dream would require intense focus and preperation by all parties involved. Therefore, the mind would likely be focused enough to resist any attempted harm from others.

I dont know if you can just walk into other people dreams but I have had two shared dreams with my cousin and one of out main goals in an ld is to try and induce a one.

i've had it happen before. I had a dream about me stealing a bunch of stuff out of some guys garage, and as i walk walking down the street back to my house, I saw my friend jeremy, and had a nice talk with him before heading back to my home.
