Did my friend have an astral projection?

He told me on MSN something happened. This is what he said about it: I woke up at 5 this morning, and I couldn’t get back to sleep, so after watchin’ TV, I went back to sleep around 7, but... before I went to sleep, I was laying down, and I heard talking in my head. I got the impression whatever it’s name was was “Mike”. Yeah, no joke. It felt like some higher being I’ve known all my life or something. So I said “Can you pull me into the astral plane? I wish to witness it, if only just once”. and then, fuckin’ terrifying. I don’t know how to explain it like... it felt like there were two parts of me, attached by an elastic at my brain and the parts were being seperated and then a shock, like the elastic pulled them back together, a snap. Any idea on what the "snap" was?
