      Paralized and more need help

Hi i hope someone can reply to this and help me understand why me and my mum are expiriencing these horible expiriences when we are sleeping. The main worry is wakeing up in the middle of the night unable to move or shout out. Whilst in this state things land on us and i even saw people in my room. It has happened 4 nights in a row and i am scared to fall alseep. My mum has also said she feels someone pushing down on her chest.

Also when i start to doze off i hear a loud bang. On consulting my mum about this she said she has aloso heard the bang. We r really disturbed as we both keep expirienceing these things. My dreams envolve the ghost of my dead nan talkign to me saying she isnt really dead and she survived the car accident and that she is ok. (this dream takes place in my old house.)

In my dreams i wake up and start 2 do stuff then i wake up for real and i am left all confused. My mum also expiriences this and she also lucid dreams.

i have also been told i have started talking in my sleep having conversations with myself.

please please reply i have been left really disturbed by this and i feel scared and feel like that there is someone in my room when i try and fall asleep.

p.s i live at home with my mum and stepdad. my stepdad has not expirienced this

That's called sleep paralysis, it happens naturally whenever you're asleep so you don't act out your dreams. It seems you just simply aren't coming out of it when you wake up. As for the pressure you're mom feels on her chest, it's a common symptom of sleep paralysis called the old hag.

It's Hypnagogic Imagery, which can take on auditory and tactile halucinations in addition to visual ones.

I'm pretty sure it's not uncommon to dream about deceased family members/friends.

False awakenings, there's nothing strange about it.

I'm sure plenty of people talk in their sleep, so as long as your parents don't hear you say anything you don't want them to you shouldn't have to worry too much.

If you're really concerned about this, you might want to see a doctor or something. Also, seeing as this is your first post, welcome to Dreamviews!

Trust me it's scary but it's not that big of a deal. It's natural to experience what you are experiencing

It sounds to me like you are experiencing what is known as the "Old Hag" syndrome, characterized by sleep paralysis, a feeling of an evil or dark presence in the room and a weight on ones chest or constricted breathing. I've never experienced it although I do know there is a lot of information online about it. The one thing I can tell you is when it happens you should remain calm. It really can't hurt you. This phenomenon has been occurring for thousands of years and there are many possible explanations of why it occurs. Hope that helped.

no one explained why they are shared... im pretty sure thats what is freaking him out.

possibly the connection between u and ur mom is a strong bond and theres a from of the movie dragonheart going on. if you havent seen the dragon gives a kid half its heart so the kid can live. but the dragon has the same feelings as the kid. for example if the kid gets hurt the dragon gets hurt also regardless of location or suroundings. this may be where the idea for the movie came from.

i cant think of any other logical explanations. maybe your grandmother or w/e is trying to communicate. sounds crazy but you should allow yourself to be more open to the fact that what she is saying might be real. if you try to take action within your dreams you may be able to allow your grandmother to rest her soul.

This possibly explains why both and your Mom are experiencing it:

Of a recent survey it is suggested that between 25-30% of the general population has suffered some form of SP with 95% of these experiencing a perceived horrifying event. It is now considered to be a common disorder among the population, but not many people admit to suffering SP. Yes, it does run in the family, if you have suffered an episode, chances are there's a member within your close family who has also experienced this. People often feel they are experiencing something paranormal with SP due to the bizarre symptoms and don't realise that they are in fact suffering from something many others have experienced with a perfectly reasonable explanation.
At Castle of Spirits, by my calculations, over 15% of ghost stories submitted to us are mistakenly describing an obvious case of SP as a ghostly account or sometimes Demon possession, this is further evidence that even though it is classified as "common" it is in fact still a widely unrecognised condition among the general public.
      (Source)

I don't really like how the site considers SP a "condition" but it does say that to experience it on a common basis is often something that runs in families. But it's something that happens to each of us every night and is perfectly normal (unless one suffers rare sleep conditions that inhibit SP, such as sleep walking (somnambulism/noctambulism)). It's just that we aren't usually aware if its occurance.

Hahah, no, just a typo from "use", I'd imagine. But still, I'd say that if it's really constant, you might want to either see a doctor for medicinal help or meditation and inner discovery for self-help.
