Thread: 17 EVP's (Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh N.C.)

NOTE: EVP stands for Electronic Voice Phenomenon..What it is, is simply this.. you take a digital voice recorder to a supposed haunted location and record while asking questions or walking around..In the recording sounds/voices will appear on your recording during the playback of it, that were not physically heard..sometimes answering your questions, or sounds that cannot be explained.....


Hey Ladies and Gentlemen

I decided to put up a collection of some (not all) of my EVP's I have caught during my trips to the OakWood Cemetery.. I have only visited the place about 5 times, spent a total of less then 5 hours there all together and have caught just over 20 EVP's all together...Here I am giving you 17 of them for you to listen too...Some are going to be clear as day, some I will have to ask your opinions on...But before I give you them, please read the Background Story..

BACKGROUND STORY:

This Cemetery Is a very historical cemetery in Raleigh North Carolina.. It is about 100 acre's big, and with in that 100 acres is a section where they have 1,600 NC Soldiers from the Civil War buried there...I had decided to go to the Civil War section of the cemetery and sit down inside this small underpass type building..Each Time I would also walk around a few of the tombstones as well to see if I caught anything.....Here are some of the things I have caught....

NOTE: These EVP's are legit, the only thing changed about them is amplification,background noise deletion,tempo slowed down for better understanding of voices....

This one you will hear me speak, saying im going to go find some shade, a few seconds later you will hear what appears to be gun shots, then you will hear what sounds like a rifle being reloaded...I ask a question and all goes silent...I ask again, and you will hear a voice saying something along the lines as "What Do You Want?....F**K You, Now Run Away!"

I need help with this one..Right away in the beginning you will hear a voice cry out "RUNN FOR ITTT!" Then you will hear a sound that sounds like a pistol being reloaded and a voice afterwards either saying "Are You Kidding" or "Time To Kill"

You will hear me say a small prayer to the spirits ( I do this before I leave each time) You will hear a voice at the end say "Amen"

Another Small Prayer...You will hear a clearer voice saying "Amen" at the end..

You will hear me ask a question "Is there anybody that would like to speak?" You will hear a voice reply "I Will"

This one has alot of disembodied voices...You will hear me say "Ive been here for about 15 minutes and im hot" a voice says: "Sorry" then i will say "Plus Im hungry, I need Some Food" Another Voice will say "BYE" directly after that you will hear a voice ask "What We Do"..Directly after that you will hear a voice say "I Won" then toward the end when i say "I'll let you guys know" You will hear a laugh..

This one was kind of chilling to me, because I had asked "Why do you guys still fight?" and about a minute later a voice is heard that sounds like its saying "Hate Them"

In this Recording you will hear me ask "You a Coward?" I was trying to provoke whatever may have been there to speak or give me a sign...What is heard after that sounds like a voice saying "I Dont Know" I slowed the tempo down of the I Dont Know Part and looped it so you will get a better hearing of it..

You will hear some guns being shot off and a voice a few seconds in saying "Cover Me" then a sound that appears to be a rifle being reloaded then shot...

You will hear me ask "Would You Like To Say A Prayer With Me?" then a females voice that sounds like its saying "Id Love To"

You Will hear me ask "What is your name?" then a voice that appears to be saying I Didnt Die...This one is amplified and the tempo is slowed down for better understanding....

In this one you will hear me drop my record on accident and pick it up...Then you will hear a laughing voice toward the end..The laughing voice is amplified just a bit so you can make it out of all the rest of the noises...



Well that is over half of my EVP's I have collected..But honestly there are many many more strange sounds/voices in my recordings that I have yet to even make out, and honestly, some of them I will never beable too...In one of my visits, I was listening to the playback of about an hours worth and I wrote down about 25 times where there was something either being said or a sound being made...alot of them I couldnt figure out...Those above are ones that I was able to figure out...Please I would love everyones opinions on them and feedback...I know there are alot of people out there that love listening to EVP's so I hope this collection will fill your needs for a little bit..Also just a side note, please wear some headphones while listening to the EVP's, it will make it so much easier for you to understand a get a better listen of what is in the recordings..
