      reincarnation

I have not studied reincarnation much, but it sounds like a very interesting idea to me. I was wondering if some of you believers could point me to a great place to learn about the theories behind it, or if you would like answer these few questions I have about it...

      1. Is there a way to recover memories of your past life without these hypnotists I hear about? say in a lucid dream and having your subconscious show you?

      2. Is there anything that says your past life may effect certain tastes you currently have...such as I live in america but feel very strongly pulled to japanese and chinese paintings and culture.

      3. Is it strictly a buddhist ideal or has the idea been around before buddism.

thanks a lot guys, I am really interested in this, and I thought what better way to find out then from people who really know it.

If the conditions were set by me. I might in order to grow up again as my true self. My heart belongs to someone else though and that is one of the big conditions. If they came back and I was born truly female with them as my mother. There is still a lot we can learn, but there is still a lot that can go wrong as well even with the perfect conditions set up. I have enough fate though if everything went right with who I have intrusted my heart and soul to that it could be a interesting life. I believe I would come out a better person then I am now.

I also do not regret when the time comes and I do die. Sure there is a lot of things I would have liked to see done better in my life, but I have no regret. I am ready when the time comes no matter when it maybe. I would like time though to keep helping others that I hold dear to me.

Well, dont tie everything to lucid dreaming.it has nothing to do with it...
There is one simple way - in the evening, remember backwards what you were doing all day long till the morning...Every next day remember past days events..

I think that Deja Vu may be something you remember from a past life. Maybe not. What's interesting, is that I could have Abraham Lincoln. He died before I was born, why not. I could have been him, then reincarnated as what I am today.

I think you'd struggle to find an american teeenager active on ANY forum, who ISN'T obsessed with japanese and chinese culture. Nothing special there.

Only if you accept reincarnation- which is really not backed up.

You couldn't of if reincarnation doesnt happen.

      Even we accept reincarnation.
In which case its an around 1/3,000,000,000 chance. lulz.

lol, well I didnt mean it as a defining trait, and yeah that was a pretty bad example, but anything that I have seen on reincarnation the people always have a story about being drawn to certain places, or otherwise before finding out what they were in a past life...I just was wondering if that is an actual correlation that believers associate with it.

Agreed, but you have to be careful with that; You can be drawn to things seemingly randomly for many reasons.

I'm drawn to mountains with snow on top. I just think this is randomness.

The most open thing I have experienced; to reincarnation, is actually remembering being somewhere, where I am sure I haven't been.

      And I'm a complete sceptic.Check my posts

But yeah; a few weeks ago I remembered being in a street somewhere at night cold,it was snowing and I was doin something on a ledge..It felt like stereotypical dark russian street or something , but being at my current age if not older; which is weird.

However the number of living beings does not stay level either.

Unless we're talking a universal scale. Which would be silly.

I have asked to see a past life while lucid dreaming recently. An ocean took over the airport scene which I had been in. A green land appeared by the ocean and small building and windmills were being built. People pointed me toward the woman who was supposedly me and I got to talk to her. Don't know if it was a real past life but it was pretty cool to see.

ehh, we cant tell that, there is no way to account for every living thing on this planet, but I still see where you are coming from.

to your other post, ha, yeah I like mountains and green hills too, in fact, the rest of my family loves going to the beach but I find it horribly boring and would rather be watching such green hills than the water. the feeling of being some place before doest really overcome me though, but it would be cool.

golden, your post in another topic about that experience is what led me to ask the first question in my post, if people who believe in reincarnation think you can unlock anything from the past in their dreams.

I thought there would be more people who believed in reincarnation in the beyond dreaming section so I could get some answers, lol, ah well its fun to discuss with anyone really.

well it all depends on what you believe....or rather what you want to believe.

but the question has always fascinated me Who am I? .......or even better What am i?

One thing, is I'm pretty sure reincarnation is a Hindu belief and not Buhdist.

I know that answered all of your questions.

Why would you believe in this massive universe, that we would be the only ones... unless you have christian-like beliefs that is
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.
