Summoning Stuff

I was talking with my friend the other day on topics to do with beyond dreaming and stuff, and I was going on about trying to summon a demon or something like that just to prove it's a load of shite. I thought my mate would feel the same way but he started warning me never to mess around with that stuff even though to me it's just laughable. I really trust him and I know that he isn't into supernatural things at all, so the warning kind of freaked me out a bit. What do you lot think of this weird gothic stuff? Would it actually be safe? I don't take it seriously at all, but just asking for opinions.

I say two things:

1. You're in the Beyond Dreaming forum. You know what answers you'll get here. "Bad mojo/spirit energy/astral soul idea, man! ur gonna die!" or "well, there r good demins and bad ones." You want answers without bais, you've come to the wrong forum. Luckily for you, I'm here.
2. Go for it. Prove it's a load of 'shite.' I saw a guy have a voodoo curse put on him, telling he would die in a few days. He didn't. (It was a demonstration on the no-cebo effect, as others have died from these 'curses,' while seemingly in good health prior. It's the power of suggestion).

If you do manage to summon a demon, play an Artemis Fowl and alter time with it. Get yourself into a famous painting, or something. [/joke]

i read a topic a few days ago on the subject of summoning in one of the lucid dreaming forums.

one guy asked his higher mind to materialize his dream guide, and his face felt like it was being covered in cobwebs.

I think I can understand why he'd be scared.

But, honestly, it's just a dream. Like you don't die if you die in your dream, then how could summoning a demon be any different?

about the dieing thing, i heard about people who believed so much that they were jesus, that they actually got the holes in the hands among other things. apparently, if you believe in something enough, it will happen.

@Da_Bomb: I understand where you're coming from, but I think there's a significant difference between being in a dream and summoning a devil and dying in your dream.

If you believed that if you summoned a demon in your dreams it would actually summon a demon in the real world, then I don't think you'd attempt to do it in the first place.

I was about to say I've got higher priorites right now, but as a matter of fact I would REALLY like to summon the devil and challange him to a ROCK OFF! I've dreamt about the devil twice before anyway and they weren't nightmares. Plus I could act out the scene from the Pick of Destiny where Tenacious D do this, but instead it's me and the dream version of my friend. Dude, if mutual dreaming was real (not saying it isn't it may be) then that would be a coolass thing to do! Now, who can be the one transforming into satan... oh I know a good number of wankstains

I might end up doing this after all, all in good fun though! My friend still wouldn't be interested I don't think, which is odd since his brother is proper interested in LDing (I only found out the other day). I'll need to get him to join DV!
