      Believers in ghosts please read

Hello everyone. I am a firm believer in the supernatural (eg. ghosts and spirits). I had an LD last night involving hugging my grandfather (who has passed, may he Rest in Peace). Could this possibly be his spirit trying to communicate with me through my dreams?
Do not try and bend the spoon--that's impossible. Instead only try and realize the truth...there is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends

I think its what you want to interpret it as...
My mother's dominican so everyone on her side of the family is either Pentacostal or Adventist...they believe that God or any spiritual form may try to contact you...

I dont know, I've been choked by a cloaked guy...I had a very short semi-lucid so I dont know

Aye, and may your grandaddy rest in peace Jerad

Thank you. No I am not very religious(I still believe in God dont get me wrong).

This dream was not like any other dream though. It was so vivid, I could have sworn it was real. i did RC a few times, and it proved to be a dream, but it was so amazingly vivid.

      Did he say anything?
Next time you go LD try to summon him up as a Dream Guide and ask him something, unless you can interpret something out of that by just seeing him

      Jerad,

Yes. The Spirits of our deceased relatives, friends and guides definitely can and do contact us in the Dreamtime. As you become more accomplished at LD, you can actually interact with them in the same way you could when they were alive.

What's even better, is that because of their new viewpoint, they can help you understand things that you could never understand by yourself in this life.

Be open to this experience and treasure it. Cultivate your LD talent and let it grow into a full understanding of the veil between this world and the Spirit World.
Be yourself - everyone else is taken.

I don't have a good answer to your question, but I've wanted to speak with my passed on grandmother a lot lately. Hopefully I can in my next couple LD's. Please post back here if you eventually find your grandfather, and let him RIP.

That is doubtful. It's like dreaming about celery and then asking, "is the celery trying to communicate with me?" You dream about everything and anything. Of course you're going to dream about your grandfather if he passed away and you cared about him, but a single dream doesn't necessarily mean it's a communication attempt..

I just thought it could have been a spirit becaue this is the most vivid dream I have ever had. (or remembered having) i could feel and see everything perfectly, and i can recall it perfectly.

I'm a beleiver. I also think that this COULD be a spirit trying to communicate with you. Lot of the times spirits communicate with us by dreams or any other ways OUT of the ordinary. But, from a scientific point of view this can just be your brain playing tirkcs on you. If you really missed your grandfather when he passed away, than, it may be just because you still miss him. Anyways, I think it was some spiritual communication.

I'm not a very religious person myself, I believe in God but, not in the way others may believe in him/her. I believe that when we die, that we're just entering another plane of life, whether spiritual or physical. This may tie into a conversation my friends and I were having a while back about this type of thing. I proposed that when we die we enter a higher form of life, like we take the knowledge we gain from this lifetime, and we're reborn in another part of the universe (or perhaps in a different universe). Maybe when deceased relatives contact us in dreams maybe they are trying to tell us something, or pass on more knowledge to us, or letting us know things before they happen to us. I do not know for sure, alas these are just, my theories in the end.

Haha sorry if my post didnt make much sense, I'm kinda tired and I'm heading to bed now lol.

From my point of view, it was just a dream character who had taken the role as your grandfather. I'm an atheist afterall, so that's pretty much the only explenation for me.

From a spiritual zealot's point, it was definitely your grandy's ghost making contact with you. He gave you a hug though, which might imply that now it's over. He probably felt that he never ended things properly with you, so a last time seing you and hugging you, was what he and you needed.
Your grandfather has passed on, now it's time to live your own life

Ohh I'm can be so spiritual when I try to

I'm amazed - and I guess I shouldn't be - that so many people who claim to be aspiritual or atheists would jump in on a post entitled, "Believers in ghosts please read.."

"Officer Jones, being an astute observer of human psychology and a fifth Dan in Aikido, tells the suspect, "Whatever you do, don't grab my wrist!"
Be yourself - everyone else is taken.

IMO it was just a dream. But who knows what it really was? I'm not an Atheist like Marvo, i'm probably more Agnostic (i think? agnostic means not quite sure, right?).

Your grandfather is well and alive. The only way people are proven to continue life after death is through memory. We remember people after they die for their relations and accomplishments. They are copied into are memory. The memory is then brought back to life in a dream.

That's the most comforting way I can put it. It's as close to your grandfather as you're going to get in this life. In the end, it's just a hallucination, as are all dreams, they do not truly exist outside of your own mind. Although they appear abstract, it's a concrete chemical process, and there's nothing mystical about it. But dreams can always be learned from, and your grandfather can be as true to life as he was in life, so there is virtually no difference in this memory of him, and his "spirit."

So go ahead and chat with him, hug him, etc. If he was a kind man, you will be showered with his kindness and happiness.

Definitely not. Titles like that have a high chance of catching my eye, anyway.

I have had dreams about my dad that were simply a dream. I have had dreams about my dad that I am sure that he was contacting me. He used to love entertaining the possibilities of such things when he was alive.

I feel there is a definite difference in the two types of dreams.
