I think pretty much everyone needs lights .. I also think intelligent life exists somewhere out there.. Its kinda ignorant or naive to think otherwise imo. You have to have an amazingly self-centered view to think humans are the pinnacle of creation, or the top of the line.. The universe is incredibly huge. Sure I dont have proof, but logically it makes sense for there at least to be a few extremely close contenders..
The only thing is... I guess pop culture/"hollywood" makes aliens and the like seem so funny.. its kinda silly to think that other forms of intelligent life would even look or behave remotely like humans, we are the way we are because of many many many random events, years and years of natural selection to adapt to earth, and life on earth as it is.
The smartest or most advanced species in the universe could be a floating sponge, we dont know.
As for this being a UFO.. I doubt it, its not the first video of its type.. I mean traveling through space inst exactly easy, and in the "thousands of UFO sightings", there has never been any solid evidence. I personally feel like we will see things coming long before they arrive. It doesn't matter what planet/galaxy you come from, space and time is consistent.. you cannot magically teleport through it. Unless we missed something in the last ~60-70 years, theres nothing within about 100 light years of us.. If they are advanced enough to literally appear out of no where, then we may have some problems .
Life on earth is so apparent its not even funny, I mean you can see the culture from space. Google "earth at night" and look at all the pretty lights that can literally be seen from space . Thats just humans lol.Although we are the dominating species, we make up for next to nothing in terms of the total quantity of diverse life on earth. It just seems highly unlikely for a super advanced civilization to exist, and for us to not have any indisputable evidence for simple life outside earth, never mind a complex multicellular species with the ability to live hundreds of years and the technology for space travel at the scale that it would have to be done at.
On the other hand, humans are getting very close to reverse engineering biochemistry, which is going to be amazing/scary at the same time, and will lead to possibilities 20 years from now, that today seem like a sci-fi movie, and thats just one field . Technology is constantly growing at an exponential rate, and in some cases it is accelerating beyond that. I do believe that we are about to hit a boom in technology like no other, any of you familiar with Moore's law should be as excited as I am . Maybe its the first step. This is beginning to become a completely different post all the sudden.. so maybe I'll stop rambling now lol.
