      sleep paralysis?

my first and only experience with sleep paralysis was a few months ago after i had used a ouija board for the first time in my life. i know and have heard that ouija boards are not toys to play around with, so i took using it very seriously.. anyway i couldn't decifer the point that i actually "fell asleep" which would classify this as a 'WILD' lucid dream..

so, at first i was lying on my bed and then i remember being pushed hard against it on mchest by some sort of force or spirit and then pushed around my neck. it was like i knew it wanted to hurt me. there was a certain point in the night when i thought that i had woken up and was afraid to go back to sleep for fear of e same thing happening again.. but i eventually drifted off to sleep again [if i even woke up in the first place]. and the only thing i can remember after this was after daybreak my dorm-mate was already awake and i became conscious of people coming in and out of our room and i could even see them moving around, but i couldn't move or talk or communicate in any way.. NOR could i wake up from my half-hallucination of this spirit supressing my chest, trying to suffocate me.

anyway, i vowed never to use a ouija board again. and i'm not used to bad lucid dreams.. i've been lucid dreaming for decades and they all go extremey well.

wouldn't really say it's the ouiji board. That kind of thing happens ocassionally with me and it can be very misleading as evil spirit. If you felt an intense feeling of dread from something evil watching you then you know how real it seems.

There's nothing to be afraid of, it's a hallucination. Though for safe measures don't mess with a ouiji board.

I have experienced this in a couple forms before. The simplest one would be similar to yours.

I was sleeping as normal and I immediately became alert because I sensed something bad entered my room. As a tried to wake up and look to where I sense it, I locked me up. In a split second I cleared my mind and focused. Within a couple seconds I freed my mind, and regained control over my body.

Its likely that these experiences are caused by bad energy. Sometimes we can deliberately cause bad energy or we can just be influenced into it.

As for me, I noticed that when I have these experiences they tend to coincide with having a lot of questions about life itself. I would question everything to the root. I am a bright spirited person, but for some reason that brought me into bad energy. Which only made me question life even more.

I haven't had one of these experiences since. What I want to know is what part of my being was able to detect that I was in danger though I was sleeping? Why do questions about life tend to lead towards bad energy?

I tend to have this occasionally as well but for years I would open my ees try to move and it would scare the crap outta me. one night it happened, I brokre free from the paralysis and proceeded to go back to sleep only to find it happening again. so I said to myself, this has happened before I'm just gonna close my eyes and wake up in the morning. but instead I closed my eyes only to unveil my first lucid dreaming experience. thats when I fell in love with it and found this wonderful site!

I have had many occurances like the one you descirbed over my life numbering to at least 20+. Whenever it happens to me, it is either my sense of sound or smell that is heightened and I can either hear or smell the things around me. The only way I have found to come out of them is by forcing my arms and legs to move. That usually gets me out of it. The first few times it happened to me, I tried screaming, but i got this feeling that my throat was being clogged by something.

One day, I was out in the living room and I started to drift off but then when i wanted to wake up, I got the paralysis <.< Once I got out of it, I thought about it and then asked myself if i could recreate the feeling. I got into the same position i was in before the paralysis and it happened again! I don't know how to explain it.
