      Did I AP?

So after reading through some of the threads about AP, I realized I had an experience once that was very much like AP or OBE or whatever. I started in my room, got out of bed and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water but my hand went through anything I touched. I don't remember giving it much thought, and I went into my backyard and looked at the stars for a while then went back to bed and promptly awoke in my physical body.

So was it an AP or a FA?

Also in all the times I've tried to AP, I get to a point where I start to form a mental image, but as soon as I even realize I'm doing it it stops. Same thing when I try to WILD.

It was most likely only an AP if that's what you were consciously trying to accomplish. Otherwise, it really just sounds like a regular dream to me. As for realizing what you're doing when you do it, it's pretty normal for that to cause failure. Why? Because it automatically sets your brain into scatter mode. You instantly start to force the steps, or keep track of them. That will through you off in an LD or AP.

You should really read this thread It will help you understand why you get caught up in realizing what you're doing.
