      False memories?

Does it ever occur that when you dream, you feel like you've had that exact dream before? This has happened to me where I sit and wonder WHEN I had that dream the first time, but can never seem to recall as actualy having it. I feel as if the dream repeated twice or somehow made a copy of the memory for my brain...

This is really troubling me, and I dont know what to think of it. Its almost as if something you have never experienced before is being "downloaded" onto your mind. I dont know if I can explain any more, but there's one more example I can give. Try imagining living your birthday two days in a row, but not notticing that you've already had it until the day is over. Get it?

I need some feedback on this. I guess you can call it "dream Deja'vou", but in a different sense.

I think I understand what you mean, but i'm not sure.
It's like, for exemple, in your dream you know that you have a sister even though in reality you never had a sister.
I sometimes have false informations while dreaming.

Is that what you mean ?

I get that in real life. I have deja vu...after the fact. Ill live an experience and think..."I had that experience before then". And with reoccuring dreams that makes a lot of sense since you dont always realize that its a reoccuring dream.

      exactly.

In a real life experience, imagine that you went rollerblading last saturday, and then you go again this saturday. You have the memory of going last week, and can recall doing it. Your 100% positive you did it.

But in this case, Its like rollerdblading this saturday, and all of a sudden you feel like you went last saturday too, even though you didn't. Its adding a memory you never experienced in the first place.

Or as you said, it could be a reoccuring dream that I didnt know I was having. Its so hard to differentiate between the two when I have one

      Yes!

Yes! I've had this same experience during dreams. I feel like I've had that dream before or a certain part of it anyway, but cannot remember when.

It could be that you've never drempt it before but your brain is doing some sort of weird deja vu thing for some reason. Or I guess it's possible that you HAVE drempt the same dream before but don't consciously remember it. But you have the hard copy in the back of your subconscious mind that is accessible whenever you dream and that's the only time you remember it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has these weird sensations.
