Connecting with passed away friends/relatives in dreams

Hey everyone, about three nights ago I had a dream where a passed away relative of mine connected with me. I've had dreams before with a passed away relative present but this was completely different. There was most certainly a connection and I'm not sure if there was a message or something he was trying to send me. I can't stop thinking about it and am wanting to hear some answers or theories.

It happened between me and my grandfather whom I can barely even remember because he died when I was extremely young. According to my family there was such a close bond between the two of us, stronger with him then any other family member.

Here's how it all went: I was at my grandparents house with the rest of my family for some sort of get together, everybody was there. He then walked up from the basement as if he had never died and sat down with us. Everybody aknowledged him and I was the only one freaking out (happily and excited, it was not disturbing at all) that he had come back from the dead. The family and I continued talking and he began speaking in his broken english. Just as he started saying something two young teenagers came running into the house disturbing everything and I couldn't hear what he said. I shooed the kids away and then ran back to talk to him. He got up and started walking towards his bedroom and I chased after him. When I got to him he looked at me and I just started crying and I said to him "I'm so sorry". He embraced me and whispered "It's okay" and then something else I couldn't make out. I immediately woke up and felt very very strange, never felt like this before. I can't stop thinking about it and the dream keeps playing in my head during the day. The dream was SOOOO real it seems, and I could control most of my actions.

Anybody else feel a connectiong like this with somebody passed away? Or am I the only one?
