Hey guys,
Im still trying to have my first astral projection. Ive been reading Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce recently, and have had problems with the falling from being relaxed into the trance state.
All of the techniques which are basically getting you to feel a sense of falling or going down, I cant seem to get to work, my mind doesnt want to recreate it.
Any ideas anyone?
This is a real problem for me as well. I've had the best experience with going down a rope. Don't go to fast, just take one "erm, hand? at a time heh". Make the rope thick enough to grasp and put some rape strands that frizz out on it so you have something to feel besides hard rope. Also its a good idea to concentrate on feeling the rope, more then it is seeing it. If you feel the rope and feel yourself climbing down it, the downward falling sensation should come automaticly or atleast with little effort. If this isnt enough put a wall such as a rockface or brick in front of you to see your progression downwards.
I've used the cave "rockface" / rope idea most the time but have also used a rope ladder and a steel ladder like the ones you see in sewers or other likely tunnels. Just to mix things up so that I dont fall asleep. The ladders make things more complicated though, it's a good idea to keep in mind that using your feet is always optional. Also remember to feel the rope / ladders more then see them. Imagine your closing your eyes during your falling work.
Thanks Thorkis, I'll try that tonight. Do you feel like youre going down the rope with body flat and your hands dragging you downwards, or do you imagine your whole body coiled around a rope like you would be in real life?
Oh I forgot to mention, in this part I am usually moving slow but I'm super strong so I just hold all my weight in my arms without any problems. I am hanging on the rope not dragging. I don't rap the rope around myself but never really thought of doing that either.Quote:

All I did was try autosuggestion, just started telling myself over and over again that im falling deeper and deeper into trance. All of sudden, I started falling into a really deep trance. After a while of experiencing it I started drifting out, tried autosuggestion again and bang, right back deep into it. Crazy stuff.
Next problem is being in a trance, going from there to separating from my body. Ideas?

There are several ways to seperate from the body but first you must get the vibration right if you want any success at all. The easiest way to do this I have found through all the "chakra work / dream keys / imagining", possible ways is this. Its very simple and once your tingling all over " if you've ever felt it before which is possible, directly after you wake up don't move and the vibrations will be there automaticly " thats without going into a trance of course.
If you are inducing the trance and have gotton that far already, simply stop autosuggestion, stop thinking period. Keep your mind completly empty. If you start to seeing images " Which you will, this will be the starting of falling asleep " simply acknowledge them and continue striving for an empty mind.
I may have mixed up the falling into a trance part ^_^ lol oh well, if that doesn't work look for the vibrations after you wake up. If you don't move or think to much, they will be there, atleast most the time, eventually you'll find them. Once you know what they feel like you can pull them to you at any time just by willing them there, while in the trance state of course, its possible while in just a relaxed state but much harder.
There are also different foods / drinks that you can eat/drink "Not drugs or alchohol or anything bad for you" that will have a high vibration and will help you attain these vibrations. Garlic is an excellent choice, so are unions.
The reason for these vibrations is so that you are vibrating closer to the astral plane then our physical plane, it really helps in making the transition easier.
After you are in a state of low to very high tingling sensation, preferably high to very high. There are 2 different types of things you can do " a mixture of both is preferable ".
I have had the most success with physicly trying to seperate with sheer force of will and slight muscle tension, such as raising the head as if your trying to get up "requires you to be laying down which is where i do most my AP'ing". If you do this, dont use the stomach muscles, and try with all your might not to use your neck muscles either but usually slightly is a must. Raise the head ever so slightly. No stomack muscles! lol cant stress that enough. Granted any movement will eventually ruin trances / vibration all together but usually im OOB before I lose my trance / vibration. The slight neck tension is usually not enough to do any harm towards the trance/vibration really, only raise your head 1 milimeter or less. Couple this with imagining getting up with each tension, then release and rinse repeat until your getting up. This might work with a sitting position, I've never tried it though.
Another physical way of doing it is the rocking motion, This one I've completed several times. It requires you to be on your side. "Oh I've forgot to mention, Keep all limbs uncrossed during these exeperments." Anywho, again you'll be tensing slightly but without using any muscles if at all possible. I know it sounds wierd but try doing it. Imagin the rocking if you must, most just say imagine it and put it in that type of way but I find this needs a little boost and using both will always be a good thing. You'll want to rock backwords not forward, Of course you'll come forward a bit to reposition youself but in the end rolling out of your body backwards is the result your looking for. During this session you might feel like your catching yourself from falling " as in falling off the bed sensation ". It goes against your nature but say forget that! heh and just keep rolling and you'll roll out of your body.
Try these a few times, The time to do these is after a Nap Induced Vibration, Did I just make that up? lol no idea. If you have no luck in these Ill go over the 50 or so different
"imagine this" type ways of doing things. They are the most tedious things ever heh. I've had luck with alot of them but I like to keep trying new things to keep from getting bored.

Another way to astral project which is a nice addition if you LD much and can create things while LD'ing. Is to create a key that will fit all locks. Go to the first door your find to unlock that door. However before you unlock the door make it a point to believe that under normal circumstances ya the door would just open to the room on the other side. However this is no ordinary key! This key will not only fit all locks but it will make that door open to a white room, So white that you cant see past the doorframe because its just white beyond it. A wall of white , opposite of space, anyways when you walk into this room " YOU WILL ASTRAL PROJECT!!! ". Keep this in mind and watch what happens, If you manage to open the door to the room filled in white light keep it in mind that "IT WILL WORK ".
Once you hit that white wall some peculiar things will happen. You will black out "outa the dream of course", you'll awaken to your sleeping body in a Very high vibration
" Tingly sensation ". You will find a ball of white light "your astral self" in your body somewhere " probably your head, possibly your neck or abdimon ". Simply will that white light out through the top of your head and bam Instant AP through LDing!
When I did this I woke up to my first OOB experience. I woke up with my astral self in the form of a very bright ball of light bout the size of an orange in my head. I could see it which was very wierd, all I had to do is will it out through the top of my head and it went willingly and Then Bam I was floating above my body.
Not only was this the easiest thing ever since I've been LD'ing for over 10 years now "For a while every night in every dream, which is not fun after a while but thats another story:P ". It also led me to my high astral plane I've achieved so far.
It's important to note that the power of suggestion is a very powerfull thing. Don't under any circumstance think that my roadblocks are in any way what you'll face. You may come into totally different ones.
Also I've found that my experiences were a bit influenced by stories I've heard about various things. Just keep an open mind and stubborn on the fact that everyone else is wrong about what they see and the challenges they face. That way your experiences will be your own and not some suggestion you read about the way it should / may be.

I've been trying to OOB for a while now, one question I could ask is:
Through WILDing can one OOB? I know how to WILD I tend to get then vibrations while WILDing. The thing is when I get to the bit where you see lots of colours the next thing I now I'm now in the dreamworld. Or am I?
So is WILDing another way to OOB or do you have to do something else?
All thats needed once you have the vibrations is to get out of the body. How you do that is usually just personal preferance / conveniance as to how you are situated atm.
O right cool.
But, the other thing I was trying to say was if u just finished off a WILD without doing anything, (just goin with the flow) would you end up OOBing or LDing?
If you just go with the flow no. It requires a technique to induce leaving the body after you hit the vibrations. There are many to choose from.
Yeah I guess if that werent the case it would be tough to know whether youre LDing or astral travelling!
