Can you remember your first memories of this life?

My very earliest memories were disjointed, but I still remember them vividly. I also remember my first unjointed sight, of a painting which my family still has, which was the beginning of my conscious life.

Can any of you remember your first memories? I'm asking because, even after all these years, I still remember those disjointed memories, which don't make sense, and I'm hoping to get some thoughts from the members here before I post further information.

When I was one, my dad was holding me in his arms and watching my first house being built. I remember looking at the stairs right at the entrance of the door that took you right upstairs.

When I was three, I remember running around don't know if I could use big words it was weird.

      Well:

      1 year: "malartija" first word
      2.5 years: seeing a butterfly
4 years (first conciousness) a dream in a black room, couldn't feel anything.

Thank you. I'm asking because of several fleeting images.

      1) One involved me looking at myself (like looking at a child in a movie) and I was crying. How could I have seen myself in the third person?

      2) Then I was in my body, looking at my dad, who asked me why I was crying.

      3) The next scene was of an alligator or crocodile, and it was part of a pair of slippers. How could I have known what an alligator or crocodile was, and how could I have known they were used to make slippers?

      4) Then I saw a painting of a horse, and I thought it looked like an elephant. This was the final fleeting scene, and, after that, I started my conscious life. How could I have known what an elephant was?

As I write this, I remember several more, but I won't bore you with the details. To me, this is evidence that I had a pre existance and a pre knowledge. Because there was no way a new born infant could have known those things.

My friends. This is a trying time of my life, and I'm looking for kindred souls to share my thoughts with. Do any of you have any similar experiences? Of knowledge that you couldn't have had as a new born child?

Well, kind of different, instead I didn't understand anything I was saying, by instinct woke up and looked around (didn't know about anything yet) were yelled "happy birthday" and then told them "Oh hi mom" then started to question the action I did, the words used and the info I had, how I got it, how I knew what it meant, it made no sense (wondering what sense was lol) Didn't last long as I got dragged into the party tough. Suppose its different for everyone <.<

My first memories go back when I was about 3 years old maybe. I remember using a ball of wool and spread it throughout the whole room. Making a sort of huge "spider web" thingy. It was quite interesting now that I think about it.

Also an interesting memory is a few years later - maybe when I was about 5-6 years old. I remember looking in a mirror one day and thinking how will I look in 10 years from now, how will my life be I tried to imagine what will be going on. Well, at 18 or so I was looking in a mirror and remembered that moment long time ago. I even managed to remember my expectations back then when I was 5-6.

I remember my dreams from my early life, maybe I was around 2. I remember meeting my cousin around 3.

Also I remember shitting myself a lot, those memories must be from ~1 year old.

That's actually very poetic - the past meets the present.

Do we have a consensus that we seem to know things that we wouldn't as new born infants? That we have memories from somewhere else?

I remember being around 2-3years old, and I was in some kind of apartment. It might of been a hotel. For some odd reason, I remember it being either at Arizona, New Mexico, or Texas. Anyway, I had a sharpie and I was coloring all over the doll's face.

I remember asking my dad when I was 3, about wanting to learn how to spell things.

I remember my twin bro and I in a bath tub as babies.

I remember always watching my dad do tai-chi.

I remember having this doll toy, and I would never let go of it. I had this toy that I could never forget, spotted kitty. When I was little I always thought that it had always been there. My parents told me that the toy was in fact one of my first toys.

I remember asking the doctor when I was around four, why do I see colors around everything. I thought maybe I was color blind. The doctor told me that I wasn't and that it was normal.

I remember my imaginary friend, I called him shadow. xP

I remember my brother and I would make these big forts out of blankets and chairs. We'd make a bed inside, and take out a flash light. We'd make up stories, while trying to make puppets. lol

I remember on rainy days, when my bro and I were in the car. We'd play this dinosaur game. All the small dots were people, and all the big dots were T-Rexs. We'd actually come up with stories. We didn't know what role-playing was, but that was pretty much it. We were taking turns on it.

I know this sounds silly, but I do in fact remember being able to talk to my twin brother as a baby. Though, it wasn't really talking it out. It was just an understanding. Like, we just sort of understood each other.

I could go on with my baby memories. xP

If you could talk to your twin brother, somehow, then there must be some form of communication. And, if you wanted to learn how to spell things at 3 years old, then you might have had the desire from a previous existance, whether it was a previous life as a person or some spiritual entity.

Thank you, all of you, for your input. You've helped me a lot.

I read somewhere that everyone is telepathic, it is just we do it subconsciously. Maybe, that's what it was?

I think there's clear anecdotal evidence of telepathy. But the question is, did we possess some kind of knowledge before birth?

There's really no way to know that. It's possible we all heard what was going on in the outside world when we were in our mother's womb and had a vague understanding of some things, but how would anyone be able to prove that?

Personally, my first memory wasn't until I was 4yrs old It's still pretty fragmented and I honestly couldn't say anything more than I was standing in my kitchen holding something like a chess board in my hands. Other than a few memories here and there, I barely remember yesterday much less while I was growing up.

I remember being 1, I was in my room, and I was staring at model trees... I'm not sure why.

I also have strong memories of England, even though I've never been there. I did while I was a fetus, but I don't think that counts...

Well, of course you either believe or you don't. I believe, but I can't prove it. I'm looking for kindred souls who have the same experiences as me, namely, knowledge that they couldn't have had as infants.

I'm very happy with the responses I've gotten here.

My earliest memory... I had no teeth so it's possible it came before 1 year of age. I remember being put down in the crib. My parents left, and I found a cookie next to my pillow! I put it in my mouth, and it tasted terrible, so I just spit it out next to my pillow, and went to sleep.

Don't know why I remember this...

At the age of 3 is when the memories really start to kick in here and there.

You remember this, but do you remember knowing anything that you could not have known as an infant?

As I read through all these, I feel much better. Thank you, all of you.

I was probably two for my first memory. I was in the living room playing with some blocks on a windowsill. It was dark outside. My dad was walking back and forth from the garage into the living room.

Another memory I had when I was three, when I went underwater at a water park. Couldn't swim, but my dad picked me up.

Humans learn at the quickest rate before the age of 3. I think it is not unlikely that anything an infant "knows" it simply managed to learn. Think about it - by age 3 infants already have a pretty decent grasp of the complexities of lattern. I mean, language.

That's true, but there are many things that people knew that they couldn't have known as infants. I've mentioned what I knew, except I couldn't have - I never saw an elephant or an alligator, but I knew what they were, and I knew that slippers came from alligators.

Bascially Male Spook is suggesting that we as humans are could of lived out previous lives or are born with knowledge already bestowed upon us, etc. etc. etc.

He is then asking us the same question to see if we also have any information or knowledge that we shouldn't possibly have.

My memory from when I was young hasn't always been the best. Most of my life I have remembered only a couple of think, a few shots from when I was young but it wasn't until I started reading this thread that I had every really thought about it deeply.

Most of my life I would tell people the first memory I remember was one when I lived in one of my old houses. I don't hold memories the same way most people do, I seem to only capture still images of what happened but it enables me to retain more information.

When reading this article I had two flash backs of my memory both being from younger than the age of one. The first was the weirdest feeling I have ever encountered, I was reading about how you talked about when you were first born and a simple memory came to me. An image of the hospital came into my mind, I think it might have been the first time I opened my eyes, they came the feelings of my thought process at the time. Somehow I can remember what it was like to start perceiving how I existed. I don't really know how to explain it properly but the memory ran chills up and down my spine, it was the weirdest thing I have ever experienced.

The other memory which came to me was when blade5x mentioned when he had no teeth. Again a memory came to me about when I had no teeth. I remember the feeling of chewing my gums together and I remember trying to think what it would be like to have teeth in my mouth. I then remember reaching to my mothers teeth to feel them so that I could understand what they felt like so that I could try and better understand what it would feel like to have teeth of my own.
