Last night I had a DEILD.
I got up out of my body, in the dream, and looked back at my bed. My body was still laying there asleep, and there was a silver cord attached from it to my dream body. Was this astral projection?
Methinks it was, as you said, a dream. Just because you dream you are connected to your body does not make it true. If you knew you were dreaming, then it was a lucid dream.
Question: Did you think it was an astral projection while in the dream?
No I didn't. I am asking this because I have a feeling that a lot of people on here are getting AP confused with a WILD... If they go lay down and do their weird AP techniques, expecting for them to have a cord attached to them and be in an "astral plane" they probably will just have a dream exactly like that.
My dream was like that because I was reading up about it the night before.
I think you just dreamed it becasue you were reading about it.
I've dreamed of wilding after a real wild attempt failed.
yeah. there are going to be people who do that, but ther'es probably more who dont.Quote:

That reminds me of a couple of dreams I had!!!
Last night I dreamt I won the lottery, I saw the winning ticket in my hand, and saw the money right there in front of me. Am I wealthy now?
I also dreamt I travelled to spain, it was really sunny, and i remember vividly getting off the plane. Still when i woke up there was no mark in my passport?!?!
:D
Don't laugh spaceexplorer. Last night I had unprotected sex in my dreams and now I think I might be pregnant :(
I think as long as everyone is sensible and realises that dreaming and the human mind can work as a fantastic piece of super-realistic virtual reality hardware/software. Then we don't go making odd assumptions about our experiences.
If I play a computer game about being a Wizard, I do not believe that I have really become a wizard in the real world.
Just because dreaming is so convincingly real, dosn't stop the same principle being true.
Which is why whenever I have an unusual experience, which others would consider supernatural. I always think first... "hold on, im carrying around the most advanced virtual reality hardware in the known universe... isn't it a little more likely that I just experienced the power of that?"
Makes more sense than assuming the laws of physics have changed just for me.

That is so right!

I just have to ask: That was a joke right? xD
I tend to be inclined to believe, if you are asking this question, that you were not astral projecting. From what I've read, astral projection feels different than a dream or even reality itself, therefore you would know. This sounds like a dream constructed from the information you've read about astral projection.
Tarsier: It's hard to say. To me, that sounds like the exact description off of so many websites I've seen. A friend of mine said that when you AP, you just know that it's real. I'm pretty sure I've APed before. During the experience, I knew without a doubt that it was real. I experience some things I've read about (vibrations) but also things I didn't read about until months later (eg. a surrounding breeze). I only questioned it upon waking, but it was only because I doubted myself. Logic returned to me, and I thought there was no way that me of all people would be capable of that (especially because I didn't master the basics first). Like Eagle said, if you're questioning it this much then it may not have been real.
Did you happen to read the description for this subforum?
Winning the lotto and leaving your body are two completely different things. You can't even compare it. Winning the lotto would mean you're taking something physical out of a dream. Traveling to Spain would require your physical body to book a flight and go there. Unless you have the internet hooked up to your brain and can sleepwalk for days on end, it's impossible.Quote:

Having an OBE only requires your astral body/consciousness (or whatever term you want to use) to leave your physical body. Those are two things that actually exist. You are not making something out of nothing or affecting the physical world.
