My take on OBE/Astral Projection

Ok Im not trying to start a debate as to weather or not there is any such thing as a "real" obe, Im just wondering if anyone else has thought about this angle before. As opposed to projecting onto a true astral plane, the possibility that you are actually falling asleep, but keeping your mind active and awake through the expierience of becoming paralyzed as you fall asleep and begin to dream. Before I was having "obe's" I was experiencing hypnogogic hallucinations with the same feelings that occur during obe. Coincidentally the practice of astral projection consists of literally creating the feeling of a hypnogogic waves (similar to the feeling you get after swimming in the ocean and laying down afterward). I see where it feels like an out of body expierience, and the belief of astral projection, but I feel that perhaps it is just poor dream control that by allowing yourself to believe these things that they actually occur by the experiences will. Just my thoughts, anyone else?
