Dreaming of the future
I've only had a handful of these dreams, but they're interesting. I'd be interested in knowing what you think about dreams which foretell the future.
In some of these dreams, the exact things happens later in real life. Like the time I had a dream that a music store I used to shop at closed down and the only thing occupying this large space was a tiny video rental place. And so it was several months later. Just as I had dreamed.
In others, it's not exactly the same, but when something happens IRL, I'm reminded of a dream I had years ago. An example of this is an epic dream I had about having bathroom renos done at my place of work, my black cat (which had died in the dream), and the corner store, near work. And now, some two years later, things are happening that remind me of the dream.
For example, I'm getting bathroom renovations done at home and we recently gave our cats a new home due to this. The black cat ran off and was not found. We think she has died because she was declawed and was not an outdoor cat. (Plus it was -50 degrees a couple of weeks ago...she probably froze in that!). The corner store near work has suddenly closed down, as of Saturday, which makes things feel different at work. I used to go there for drinks all the time.
I started to put these things together, and their timing seems too close to be a coincidence. Why did I dream about all these things in one dream? Am I reaching too far, or did my dream a couple of years ago foreshadow these things?

Well i don't know about fortelling the future but, when i was a very little kid, i had this dream about doing this school project that we had to do, and sometime during that week i did the exact same thing in my dream.

Interesting topic... I'm a believer of dreams that can predict the future, because it happened to me too!
I was reading over my dream journal when I was bored, when I noticed that some of the minor events that were in my dreams actually happened in real life. In one of my first lucid dreams, I dreamed of me flying, and losing my lucidity after I bumped into a bird and went back down to the ground. The dream after that one involved a gigantic airplane. And about a week later, I hear about an airplane that landed into the Hudson River after both of its engines failed. (Some people think that it was because a bird hit one of the engines).
Then, I dream about me being very hungry, and trying to get my friend to give me some of her caramel popcorn. About a week later, I see caramel popcorn at the store, and randomly decide to buy it. (I wasn't thinking about any of my dreams at the time). That one isn't that major, but I still think it's worth mentioning.
Was it just a coincidence, or were my dreams really predicting the future?

that's cool, dawn! i've never had any dreams of the future, but i did once dream about what my new school would be like. but i already knew we were moving, so i don't think that counts!

I had some of those.
first one
I had a dream about something that didn't make too much sense to me. Then two years later I read a book and as I read a part of it I could remember every detail since It was the part I had dreamed before even knowing about the book. Every detail explained in the book, I remembered.
second one
I was playing volley-ball in the dream and after in real life we started playing volley-ball. We change what we are doing every week and I had no idea what we were going. Everyone thought we would be doing badminton.
and more that I forgot... :(
