Thread: Doppelganger

From what I understood, according to wikipedia it's a belief that when you die, one part of you has an afterlife while the other is a ghost, correct? Either way it sounds really bizarre, and I'm sure almost no one expirienced them before, but it would be very interesting.

Do you mean, for example, have I met my doppelganger? Or have I seen my doppelganger in real life or a dream? No, I haven't. I'm not convinced they exist. Even if they did, wouldn't a ghostly counterpart of yourself be easy to encounter?

I don't believe that they exist either, but then again some of the accounts throughout history, as unbacked as they are, seem rather convincing. I believe in a lot of things, but the concept of a doppelganger seems far fetched. Nonetheless, creepy and interesting. I can't imagine how a ghostly counterpart of onesself would be easy to encounter though.

Ghost is just an inprint, i assume you mean spirit?

I once saw my doppelganger in a dream over a year ago. It first appeared as this mass of shadowlike matter, but slowly took the form of myself. I triggered lucidity because I saw a small statue behind the doppelganger, and that statue is in my backyard. I promptly tried to destroy my doppelganger with beams of light, but he overpowered me and started to chase me. Usually you'd run slow in a dream, but not that one. In all seriousness, I never dreamed of being able to run as fast as I did in that nightmare.
