the shadow people come out usually during sleep deprivation and u can see them in the dark also, i have seen them in broad daylight right in front of me...

So seeing something while deprived of sleep is special?

I mean, I could believe it being something if you were wide awake, sober, and mentally healthy... But I start to see things too if I'm sleep deprived.

no i see them when i'm relatively sober too, but it seems like when i am sleep deprived i see more of them....

I see shadowy figures during hypnagogic hallucinations. Is that what you mean?

I also have this thing where I always see cats everywhere. I see them out of the corner of my vision, even when they're not there. I also immediately spot cats everwhere, when they are slinking around trying to hide. I don't get it. I don't even like cats.

Yeh, I was very young, they were a row of shadows that looked like flames, and they made strange human-like noises. Creepy. it was a dream

http://www.shadowpeople.org/ thats what they are! i saw them all the time when i was about 11-12 freaked the hell out of me. shadow people are not a result of anything sleep related.and i have never been on any kind of illegal drugs either. so it cant be drug related. a lot of people think of them as a type of ghost/demon actually. no one really knows what they are. actually alot of people from across the world have seen/experienced them and someone in like india would describe it just like some other person in the U.S. really freaky. its starting to get out of hand mainly because so many people describe shadow people theyve seen exactly alike. everyone says the same thing. they're like flashes of shadows of people like i saw a shadow person running across my room, in the corner of my eye and i jerk around and it would be gone.nothing was behind me.it happened so many times not just in my room either. ive stopped seeing them tho....really glad, they feel sinister and give off bad vibes.almost like your being stalked by a serial killer O_O

The stories on that website seem to cover a variety of different phenomena. I don't think grouping them all together under "shadow people" is helpful in explaining them, at all. It seems to just confuse things even more.

sky's description is what i see, nice find by tha way and ima check it out after i post...over time they have started to appear right in front of me - like i'll be looking at my monitor and see one in the corner of my eye, turn my head expecting it to not be there and it's there, then kinda just walks off/disappears...i think they are entities whose "bodies" are at a different frequency than our eyes normally see, which is why some people never see them, but i have seen them with groups of my friends, 10 people saw them and me and like 3 dudes went to investigate and found NOTHING - we heard them, saw them and they were only like 50ft away...even my dogs would see them, they would be in front of my house in a field like 30-40ft in front of us and i would be watching and my dog would be too, he would go out there first and we would find nothing....

i've also seen someone walking past my window towards my door, i go to tha door expecting it to be a person and my cat or dog is there and the window is a good 4ft off the ground....

I once came across a Shadow Demon Thing when I was on a Psilocybin Mushroom rush. I was listening to Maynard's other band "Puscifer" and laying on my bed when a GIANT fucking devilish creature, made entirely out of shadow was right in front of me. Its face came up to mine, and even though I couldn't see its eyes, I knew it was staring directly INTO me. I was told not to give into astonishment, and the shadow seemed a lot more interested in me and curious than evil, or mal-intensive.

My siblings have claimed to have seen them, even heard them, and have been assaulted by them. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) I've never encountered a shadow person.

I was alone in my room and During my OBE attempt, I began rising outside of my body. My eyes were closed but I could see through my eyelids. I saw a similar version of the room I was in, but it was totally different. Certain things that I wouldn't normally see were there. One example was some giant door that this shadowy figure opened and came through when it entered my room. I tried to move and scream (during SP) and this being, who I watched with my eyes closed the entire time, just jumped straight into my body before my successful cry for help. Once I screamed it came out of my body and left through the same door which it came. This all happened while completely sober and I am not sleep deprived.

My second encounter happened while I was on Salvia Divinorum. After consumption, I was at the peak of my trip and saw these two shadowy/shiloette-like figures in my living room. They just looked at me like I was some kind of mistfit. I started dancing to keep from looking suspicious because I thought there were my father and sister. Later I discovered everyone was still in bed.

To be honest i've had faaaar more interactions and dealings with the 'light people' or whatever. Very common beings as well, often related to heavy psychedelic experiences, (DMT most common) but a few times in my dreams as well.

hmm, I've never really encountered these shadow people before, so, I can't really know how scary they are. Curious, when you guys encountered them, did anything stand out to you?

If you google it you'll find accounts of people seeing shadow people.

I'm doubtful when it comes to see anything while on drugs. More often than not when someone is under the influence of drugs, it's all in their head.

Shadow people are exactly that. Shadow type beings in the form of humans. The look like shadows basically.

I thought about possession too but then I remembered I was attempting an OBE. I've read somewhere about people's inner-self being forced/grabbed out of their body by these entities.

hmm, being forced/grabbed out, but what do the entities do after that happens?

I still believe shadow people are made up from your mind because from what I understand, it usually happens when you just woke up, so, your on the border of awake and sleep and since they disappear when you try to touch them in anyway, it makes for a more likely explanation

If it is all in your head, I just can't get over why they are all the same. Everyone has unique content in their DJs, so why wouldn't they have unique shadow people?

I like Castaneda's theories to explain shadow people.

According to his books, the universe at large is made up of infinite glowy filaments or strings. On the human energy body, there is a fist sized glowy spot on the back, and only a small portion of those filaments pass through that spot. If that glowy spot moves, then different filaments pass through it, creating a different world or reality. When you dream that glowy spot moves around slightly, the greater the displacement, the more bizzare the dream is.

I would guess when you see shadow people, this assemblage point is slightly off from it's habitual position. Those shadow people would have a different position of their assemblage point than ours, thus existing in a different world. I think what happens is after a slight dream shift, you have some filaments from our world, and some from the world of the shadow people. But our assemblage point isn't completely in the position of the shadow people, only partially encompasing only some of thier filament, which is why we only see them as shadows.

Yes, I have seen the shadow people.
In fact sence I was 10.
They are usualy white shadows.
A few i have seen were black, and a sence of evil came from them.
What are the shadows like, what do they do?
And what do they look like?
