      Shared Dream Personal Proof Procedure

      Here is my proposal:

      1. While lucid dreaming, try and find somebody - anybody at all.
      a. if it is somebody you do not know, find somebody else
      b. if it is somebody you do know, continue

      2. convince them that they are dreaming
(show them something incredible and rebut their inevitably irrational arguments)

      3. now that they are lucid, tell them to contact you (facebook, text, phone) IMMEDIATELY upon waking
(you might also need to warn them about false awakenings, or explain a reality test to them so that they actually awaken)

It seems to me that if shared dreaming is at all possible, this would be a pretty quick way to obtain information about it -- maybe within 10 tries. What do you guys think?

I have had several dreams like this about whatever girl was sleeping next to me at the time. Dozens of times, really.
It has never worked for me.
I'm not saying it isn't possible.
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

My response to that would be that she was not aware she was dreaming, and might have forgotten it.

It seems to me that the dream people would have to "agree" that they are communicating telepathically via dreams, before they can successfully send messages or even remember it.

This would be cool. Hopefully the person your trying to convert into lucidity and isn't stubborn and "miss" the reality checks you show them! Because I've had times where I was told I was dreaming, and just don't wake up. So has many people.

This... wouldn't establish proof. If, for example, I had told the person about dream sharing, or pointed them to DV which mentions dream sharing, both parties might just be dreaming about each other the same night, and your friend e-mails you that night by coincidence.

Or if, say, you were trying to dream share with someone. Try one, you recall it and he doesn't. Try two is the opposite. And thus it goes for 11 dreams. Let's say the reason you aren't remembering the dream the same night is because there is no shared dream... The day you finally both lucid about each other is just a coincidence because you both tried.

There would be ways to refine this theory.

      This would be more reasonable...

Go through those steps, but find the person sleeping near or next to you. Wake yourself out of the dream, and tell them to wake themselves as well.

If you're both awake, that seems substantial. Plus they'll have a good chance of remembering. This will help the shitty argument of "they forgot."
      Bollocks.

Or think of some code in your head and don't tell them. Like, in the dream tell them to remember the number '45' or the letter 'p' or something. Then, if they remember the code without suggestive prompting, there's no coincidence involved. I doubt that's going to happen, though...

I had a DC that claimed he was real give me his phone number once. But when I woke up I couldn't remember all the numbers.

That would be pretty funny if I had called somebody and asked them if they were just in my dream. I would have done it though.
