I Think I'm Losing It Sometimes...

So occasionally I'll see or hear wierd things. Sometimes I even get the oddest urges (like jumping into my pool fully clothed from the roof, which is not something I would do because I don't like jumping from heights) or I'll wake singing some little nameless, wordless melody in the middle of the night, I'll even call people in my sleep and leave them some wierd cryptic messages. I find myself staring intently at something knowing that there is something I'm missing, or even catch movements from the corner of my eye (especially when I'm alone) and it can happen anywhere anytime.

It's never really bothered me or scared me, I just found it well... odd. I have a friend who is very open minded and believes some wierd stuff and he seems to think that I'm some sort of communicator for less than human and less than living beings. I think I'm just losing it.

I have seen ghosts before (we live with one but that's a whole other story) but this just isn't like those encounters. I'm just really beginning to wonder about it now. Any thoughts guys?

Hmph... wierd shit. Your family have a history of insanity? Just kiddin', but ummm, that sounds like some symptoms ptsd. You ever have anything traumatic happen to you?

I really mean this with no offence, but i'd suggest having a word with your doctor about it. It could be something really simple, maybe something silly like a mild allergy that causes you these experiences.
Having had a few friends who did "loose it", my advice would be, whatever the cause, doing something early is always the best way. Think of it like a toothache... the chances are that leaving it, will just make it worse for you in the long run.

But don't worry, the human mind can do odd things sometimes, especially in stressful situations, of if there are hormonal changes going on. So relax, but deal with it seriously, that way, you may avoid something less pleasant in the long run.

Actually yes I have, you think that's why I have urges to jump off my roof into my pool? Maybe I just need to stop reading so many sci fi or fantasy novels.

well these episodes do sound like ptsd. my little sister has it due to a kidnapping incident and now she sometimes sees and hears things. i would'nt attribute the roof jumping thing to ptsd, but it could be something more serious like spaceexplorer said, like a hormonal or chemical imbalance.

Migraines can cause hallucinations. That's what happened to me :/

You text people at night? You need to be careful incase you say something bad :D

That is kinda what its like but no patterns and what I see tends to be brief. So I'll see a flash of something, look, its gone and then maybe five minutes later I see another something. But my head is always in some small degree of pain no matter what I do, specially during allergy season. The pain doesn't intensify when this happens either.

not that you are doing this, but-ignoring the weird things that are happening to you might make it even worse.

I would, if I were you, try and explore the weird things that you are perceiving etc.

your mental condition does seem to be 'different' from most people but I wouldn't say you are going crazy or anything like that.

maybe reflect on some of the weirder experiences you've had.... what you say is intriguing.

Have you been to the doctor about constant headache? I don't imply that it's connected to what you wrote in the thread, but I think that you should go and complain. It isn't normal. It can be a sign that something is wrong with you, maybe it's even serious, to have something wrong inside of your head is nothing good! Constant headache is not normal, no matter how small, something is wrong. I'm not saying all this because of redundant worry, but because I'm familiar with such cases when only a small constant headache was a sign of wrongness. You really should go to the doctor and ask for EEG or something alike in order to make sure that everything is alright.

I didn't know that migraines can be cured by medicine :? What medicine was that and did the headaches stop too, as well as visual distortions?

Not cured but it makes a big difference. I am on cyproheptadine and Wellbutrin. I still get headaches but migraines don't just cause headaches, they cause

blurred vision
hallucinations
foggy minds
and a bunch of other stuff.

Have you ever tred drinking black coffee? I was told once that drinking it can help you avoid headache completely, if you drink it before it sets in. I wonder if that's a mad myth...

It's so hard sometimes MIND is so controlling. be happy, this is a noob post sorry, but i thought I would respond.

The whole "seeing things at the corner of my eye" is just you, stop doing that to yourself and you will be fine. I used to have that problem, and once i knew it was me it never came back. As for the urges...i sometimes have an urge to sing infront of strangers for no reason when listening to music, or jump into a lake for no reason other then to get wet because i used to love swimming and miss doing it. As for the others, go to your doctor and ask him what it is, get a checkup and he may give you something for it.

Sorry guys, I've been out of town with family for a week and no connection to the outside world. I think you are right Arutad, I made a doctors appt. last night for Monday. As for drinking black coffee, no I haven't, I don't like the taste:P

I have tried to ignore these things but it's like a constant nagging in my head, like the feeling that you're forgetting something, but I know that's not it.

Now the melodies I don't ever recall hearing in my dreams, but then again until awhile ago my dream recall was non existent. But I don't text in my sleep, just call people (my friends) in my sleep, like that's any better.

Also for PTSD, my best friend is convinced I have it but I've never been professionally diagnosed with it. This stuff is just so wierd.
