It can be hard to tell who really is close-minded and who is not. During a discussion everybody looks as if they believe only one opinion and as if they're 100% sure of it. In a forum where nobody knows each other personally open\close-mindedness labeling becomes something highly subjective.

If it comes to spirits, the brain, psychics, science, etc i am able to hear my skeptic side, and my non skeptic side pretty easily. I both defend, and non defend both. But if things get out of hand and there is no side for the other thing, i will change rolls because something becomes pointless if there is no 2 sides. There is no point further talking about it if all partys agree to 1 side only, you need someone to talk about the other side, so i'm prefectly fine doing both. I try and not sound ignorant, although sometimes i probably come off that way, i only know as much as i read online, and here.
Do you mean that you defend opinions you don't think if you feel bored? It's very hard to feel like you're worth talking to after such a confession, unless I misunderstood it. Maybe you're just trolling now, lying about your opinions?Quote:

I think main of the BD's claim to be open-minded, but when it comes to the crunch, they simply reject clear and logical explanations for certain phenomenon in favour of something "other".
Open minded-ness is being able to consider both sides fairly and draw a conclusion based on the same.
I'm my view simply railing against and scientific evidence and analysis with opinions like "That proves nothing! You can't disprove souls so they always remain a possibility" etc.
And yes, its awful easy to level the same accusation at so called skeptics, but at the end of the day it can be strongly argued that they form an opinion based on salient evidence rather than to suit a personal bias.
The majority of people don't find that admirable :), I wonder why. Maybe it's a desire to believe that grows out of feeling that the world is too boring as it is. Or too cruel (in case of no afterlife, etc.).Quote:
