I try to avoid religeon and stick to the facts with logic and experience alone, witches say I have the gift, buddists say seek and you shall find and so on, it doesnt really matter to anyone else around me as it doesnt happen to them, but it is life changing and it does open my mind to the potential of the mind I just wish I could find out more, thankyou very much for taking the time.
You could try reading _The Truth About Medium_ by Gary E. Schwartz, PhD. He's a parapsychologist at the University of Arizona, who studies psychic gifts from a scientific perspective. Among his study subjects are the real Allison Dubois, who inspired the TV show "Medium", and John Edward. Among the scientific community, psychic experiences are termed "PSI." He does all kinds of double blind and triple blind tests.
I think it's easier to simply accept that these things *are* happening to you than it is to explain them. And it's Christians, not Buddhists, who say "Seek and ye shall find." The full passage is, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." Jesus said it. Of course, it's possible Buddha said something similar, as I have a whole book of parallel quotes from their sayings.
You could also go here: <http://www.asdreams.org/index.htm>, which is the IASD's (International Association for the Study of Dreams) website, and from there you can find their forum and also click on the announcement for the Psiber Dreaming Conference for 2009, which is coming next month. It's a two week conference on the internet totally devoted to Psi dreams. I went the last three years, and it's very interesting. All kinds of views, including scientific ones.
I personally ascribe more to spiritual viewpoints than to scientific ones. I think God created science and is thus not limited to science, or especially to what little we probably understand of science.
Accepting that it IS happening works for me!
Good luck!
